High what is the low carb community

I'd say it's for both groups, and also people who are T1 or T2, people who care for T1's or T2's, or anyone who just wants to lower their carb count for any number of reasons.

    Hi all

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I can't help with the insurance for 2 reasons - I have none at the moment, and I live in the US.

What’s in your black out box?

@Brekkie we have days worth of warnings for when a hurricane will hit, and they are mostly during the summer and fall so we have time to cook up stuff and store in fridge to be heated up in disposable roasting pans on a grill. We can also cook meats on a grill that are in danger of thawing out...

What’s in your black out box?

@Brekkie I get the canned veggies and stuff with lower sodium. Also with a hurricane, you lose power often for up to a week or more at a time. You need to think more about being able to eat and have your energy.

What’s in your black out box?

I don't have a "blackout box" per say. I live near the OBX of NC, so we have to worry about hurricanes. I have an evacuation kit with flashlights and batteries, battery-operated radio, battery-powered cellphone charger, extra bg meter & strips, lancet and needles, alcohol pads and extra...

    Brisk Walking - daily exercise

I love walking also, and try to walk 20 to 30 minutes after each meal. I start working next week so will be walking to and from work most days unless it's just too yucky outside.

    Sad News

RIP Queen Elizabeth II - may you and Prince Philip enjoy the rest of eternity together again. From a fan in the US who can always remember her being a person to look up to as a role model.

    Facts truth

Almost fell out of my chair laughing, but I have to agree with them - especially the last one.

    Needle in the lancet

I change mine and my Mom's needles once a week, on Sundays. Even put it on my calendar (we have 2 different lancets) or before and after we check another person.

    Mood swings from sugar

Yes, I'm tired of the mood swings - but they alert me that something is not 100% with my bg readings and I can keep a closer eye on them.

Coffee effect - if this helps anyone

I tried to give it up completely - nothing doing. I now have just 1 a day, in the AM with my breakfast. I guess it's a balancing act. Like with everything else in life.

    Hot weather, frequent lows, T1D

Hi, Sally. I'm a T2, but also on insulin - using MDI and also take Janumet 2x daily. Up until last year I was using a mixed insulin and every summer my levels would DROP big time. After last summer, when I ended up in ER several times because of lows, my NP and I decided to try a long lasting...
