Is the forum always supportive or can it sometimes seem a little oppressive?

Sorry -- I can't agree with that. When newbies join the forum they usually say that they are confused -- they want advice and information, not just 'I feel your confusion' (and remember that others have been 'showered with' very bad information). Daisy's advice sheet gives specific direction...

    Grapefruit Juice And Metformin

It says in your link: 'eating grapefruit may interfere with the effectiveness of metformin. So it’s best to avoid grapefruit (which you should be doing now, to help reverse the disease in the first place)'. The bit in the brackets is the crucial bit -- as a diabetic you should be avoiding...

    Love or crush on ?

Does having half a brain mean that they are able to spell 'nous' properly? And I don't see how you can see BEHIND the eyes without radical surgery

    Definite?

Are you sure the question wasn't about you, then (at least subconsciously)? If you found LCHF too restrictive, do you maybe still need to try finding other ways of reducing carbs and adjusting diet, boosting exercise etc, to get your blood sugars under control? It doesn't need to be all or...

    Need help

Why not try making some of the dietary changes, and measure the effects on your blood sugar levels, BEFORE you meet the GP on Tuesday? It will give him more information to work with when deciding how your treatment might be changed.

    Best sugar substitute?

Splenda has no aspartame and is the only one where I find the taste is OK (and is also best for baking). I'm sure it would be better to have stevia but I found that tasted awful.

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Testing a couple of times a fortnight really WOULD be wasting the cost of strips. What a stupid woman

Does the proliferation of technology, information and forums encourage obsession?

In the end, Information is Power. if it is used effectively. And in medical matters. Ignorance can mean Death. Anything can be addictive, and of course one should not obsess about diabetes. But the idea that regulating diabetes means one is obsessing, and missing out on enjoying life, is what I...

    Diabetes Quiz

92%. I thought that some T1 can still produce a small amount of insulin. So I've decided that I get 100% and the quiz gets 92%.

Can people really be to blame?

The final sentence explains it all. We have been here before with you. This is nothing to do with diabetes -- it is all to do with your views about 'society'. There are plenty of other forums for that sort of thing.

If ever there were a case for deleting a thread, rather than simply locking it, surely it is: The natural cures they don't want you to know about If it stays then it is still doing its work publicizing a dangerous work of fiction. 112 views already, and I think that is 112 views too many...

Girlfriend needs higher levels to feel normal...

Do you know what her hba1c is? The BGs don't seem excessively high, but feeling bad below 6 doesn't sound great, TBH, and maybe implies she is hitting 9 pretty regularly.
