    Period/hormones - HELP

Hi everyone (ladies I’m assuming for this one) - I’ve recently had my contraceptive coil removed which has meant my monthly cycle returning. I’m finding the whole week before my period my sugars are out of control, so much higher than usual and insulin resistance is at an all time high. I can’t...

    Sleepy after hypo

Does anyone else feel so sleepy to the point where they feel they have no control over falling asleep or not following a hypo? I suffer so bad sometimes can’t even keep my eyes open it’s awful - is it normal? Thanks! X

    Needing some advice

Wow that’s amazing and very reassuring to me! I really hope that I get to your age with zero complications even if the road is bumpy! That’s what scares me sometimes, the thought of not knowing what diabetes is doing to my body and what my fate will be! I know I shouldn’t think like that but...

    Needing some advice

Hey fairygodmother! Thanks for your reply and thanks so much for your kind words. I probably don’t give myself enough credit, you are right! I’m spinning a lot of plates and most of the time I do it well (other than currently now when I’m having a breakdown re diabetes [emoji23]) Well done to...

    Needing some advice

Hi Mel! Thanks for your reply - you’re completely right and it definitely is overwhelming sometimes (for me now is one of those times!!). For BG monitoring I’m just pricking at the moment currently waiting patiently for my libre which I know in itself will massively help with my spikes etc so...

    Needing some advice

Hi Mei! Great to hear your story and thank you so much for your kind words. I really do appreciate it and of course feel free to ask advice on absolutely anything! Sounds like you’ve had a tough time yourself - much tougher than I have with diabetes and for much longer so kudos to you and you...

How many spikes do you have a day?

Yeah I’ve tried doing that before but still like to know what’s going on in between - do they say that the spikes are still bad tho? Surely if your sugar is going up above 10 in between meals that must be doing some sort of damage? Diabetes is so confusing!!

How many spikes do you have a day?

Hey Juicy J! I’m struggling mainly with the spikes or general fluctuations. I just never understand what’s “normal” and if everyone else gets the same thing I do or if it’s common to have spikes etc? I’m scared I’m doing so much damage to my body but my doc assures me I’m good at control but I...

    Needing some advice

Hey everyone - I’m going through a really ****** time with my diabetes at the minute and feel really sad, alone and scared. I feel like I have no one to ever speak to or get advice from and even though I’ve had diabetes for 5 years nearly and my doc always tells me I manage well - I’ve pretty...

How many spikes do you have a day?

Hey everyone - I’m in a bit of a bad place at the moment with my diabetes and don’t really have much insight or friends who I can talk to and ask! I was just wondering - what your bgs look like throughout the day and if there’s anyone out there who has regular spikes above 10 and how you’re...

    Bad hypo

Hey everyone, I’m currently recovering from a really bad hypo. My sugar was 2.0 and I felt/feel terrible. I hate the feeling of my heart racing and having hypos like this petrifies me! Can it make you have a heart attack or something else if you have a bad enough hypo even if you’re conscious?

    Insulin sensitivity

Hi everyone - recently for some reason I have pretty much had to double my insulin dosage and still can’t seem to get my levels under control?? I am seeming to be much less sensitive to my insulin but can’t work out why? There has been no particular illness or event I can relate this back to -...

    Illness

Hey everyone - I’m currently fighting off some sort of virus or infection - I have high fever (temp won’t go below 39), general malaise, headache etc. My sugars are all over the place, waking up in the night burning hot with a BM of 15-20. Is this normal? Trying my hardest to correct etc x

    Twitching

A lot is making me nervous lol. I am a permanently anxious person! Although I always convince myself it’s not anxiety!! I don’t have that much caffeine I try to avoid most of the time ‍♀️

    Twitching

Does anyone have random twitching in different parts of the body? I have been type 1 for 4 years and have always had quite good control but been a bit rubbish of late. I keep getting twitching mainly in my feet and fingers and am worried. Had a brain MRI and nerve conduction test and clear but...

    High bg

Hi - for the last few days I’ve been getting absolutely ridiculously high bg readings, like 18-20 and have to inject sooooo much apidra to get it down. I seem to be suddenly very insulin resistant as this is completely unlike me. What could be causing this? And obviously I’m correcting as much...

    Hypos

I’ve been running a bit high recently for various reasons (mainly stress and Christmas). And have been feeling hypo symptoms a bit higher than usual - sometimes at 4.9/5? Is this normal? Also my hypos seem to make me feel worse than usual
