HbA1c as I understand is the count of red blood cells which have a shelf life of roughly 3 months and are higher when BG is higher their population tends to increase and hence higher HbA1c results are bad... so if you have severe blood loss due to injury you can have a a HbA1c showing lesser...

The most important lever is the food you eat. Exercise helps but isn't the most important and in fact heavy workouts will cause spike in everyone (non-diabetics included). This is because when we exercise, multiple things happen at the same time. For one - exercising makes the body burn energy...

Like others have also mentioned, lower average is a good thing but a straight line is more important. As diabetics we are very susceptible to a bizarre graph with significant spikes making the 24 hours BG graph look like a sine wave and while that could mean a low average it will cause far more...

I agree with @jjraak and would just add one more suggestion. If its possible and affordable, invest in Freestyle Libre so you can see trends for your blood glucose levels against food you eat and after training. It will help you make informed choices and HbA1c results will also be less of a...

Type 2 Hba1c up but ALT down

I am so sorry to hear of your struggles. Rise in sugar just with coffee and eggs is very puzzling because that combination does not have any carbs unless you add sugar to your coffee which am sure you don't. Though, I will say this, if you follow alternate day fasting and switch to low carb...

Type 2 Hba1c up but ALT down

Looking at your profile I take it you have been around on the forum long enough to know staying low carb helps. Are you having these numbers despite being on a low carb diet? More activity = higher readings?

Well when we exercise the blood glucose does go high because brain sends signal to Liver asking for more energy... now that signal does vary based on an individual's normal activity level and brain will send such signal only when the threshold is met and that threshold will be fairly high for...

Big fatigue on 6 day water fast

I finished a 6 day fasting on Thursday and my BG was 3.9 and Ketone level was 3.... I do think 20 is way too high. I would recommend not to jump into longer fasting suddenly but instead build up slowly... start with alternate day fasting for a month and throw in 2 and 3 day fasts every now and...
