from the "newly diagnosed" section.
So your 9.7 is a bit high, but a meal of weetabix (starch) and milk (sugar solution) is high in carbohydrates and probably a "worst case". See how it looks after bacon and egg for comparison
The 46 result is close to the target for T2, slightly...
80-90g of carbs per day ? That's probably "moderate to low" carb and I suspect a little high to be ketogenic.
T2 people have used ketogenic and low carb diets successfully.
What do you find the limiting factor in reducing carbs ?

What not to eat - cake, cookies, biscuits, bread, bagels, candy, chocolate, pasta, pizza, potato, chips, crisps, rice
Meat and two large veg portions works for me, no starchy carbs beside it.
2 or 3 rashers of bacon and a fried egg is my ideal breakfast. Zero carbs.
For tea a steak or home made burger (100 - 150g / 4-6 ozs) with 2 out of: broccoli, green beans, cauliflower
I hope by "coca cola" you don't mean you're drinking standard red can coke with blood sugars at 22 and 25.
13 - Ouch ! Yes, please concentrate on getting that down and put the sport on a back-burner. We don't want to be admiring your body in a hospital bed ;-)
Check out the risk charts at http://heartuk.org.uk/health-profession ... isk-charts
there isn't a "safe level" but the risk of cardio-vascular illness increases with the ratio of total to HDL cholesterol (the x-axis of the risk charts) and blood pressure as the variables. Smoking and gender...
Read your staff handbook, statement of terms and conditions or whatever about the company policies on sickness, absence etc.
"Frustration of contract" is a mechanism for firing someone who is away from work excessively, but most companies would be reluctant to go down that path and be seen to...

a fasting test eg before breakfast shows how well or otherwise your blood sugar is being controlled without the confusion of glucose entering the blood stream from food you just ate.
It's a "background" level against which you can judge the effect of eating as well as getting a feel for how...
VLC diets are only for the obese or maybe overweight, so that's one restriction I would suggest.
The work at Newcastle was excellent, showing how the VLC diet could achieve the T2 diabetes reversal often seen in bariatric surgery.
You would need to be in some sort of police state to get serial...
The term "wholemeal" does at least appear in regulations, as far as I know neither it nor "whole grain" has a precise legal definition.
"The term “wholemeal” is not defined in law, however it is
generally accepted that wholemeal flour is the entire wheat grain, which
contains the bran and the...
Low carb dieting often improves the important total:HDL cholesterol ratio, you didn't give any numbers but the idea of statins is to reduce cholesterol (they don't improve outcomes, especially in women, but that's another issue).
Scroll towards the bottom of http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Glucose ... -Tests.htm -
Table 1 on p52 of http://whqlibdoc.who.int/hq/1999/WHO_NCD_NCS_99.2.pdf suggests "Impaired Fasting Glycemia" has similar results to your friend above.
The fasting glucose is the biggest issue - if that is...
Perhaps you should translate the "don't eat after 7pm" into "don't eat within 3-4 hours of going to sleep" - would that work for you ?
It's probably nonsense anyway, and you may do better in the Low carb section of the forum for tips on how to eat less carbohydrate and reduce blood sugar.
Yes, but the reduced carbs needs to be reflected in reduced insulin dose.
Personally I would try low carb before starting on insulin, as it may make the latter redundant.
