    My latest diabetic check-up.

Hello friends, thank you for your kind replies. Pasta? that may be a killer! :angelic: I hear your advice to discuss with my GP, I don't think she'll be happy, but that doesn't bother me. For 2 or 3 years, I wouldn't touch statins, I'm currently on a low dose of Pravastatin, that doesn't seem...

    My latest diabetic check-up.

Thank you Daisyduck! Well, I agree with your comment Blimey! But I'm not getting any real answers from any medical teams. They're only interested in what they're treating me for. Ok, I'm half Italian, so do I give up pasta, which is my favourite food? I do have a BG meter, but I barely use...

Living with 3 long term diseases

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't identify the correct forum to post this. what are your thoughts of diet coke and the like ?

Personally, I make an effort not to drink any soft drinks. I try to drink 2LT water a day, as I have prostate cancer. I also try to limit the amount of processed food in my diet - not easy. Plus my diabetic nurse doesn't approve of a low carb diet. Frank.

Hello friends, I haven't been here for a while, I've had other stuff on my mind, as I'm sure you'll appreciate. As far as I'm concerned, all my GP worries about is my type 2 diabetes. She certainly worries about it, a lot more than I personally do, for this past year, i couldn't give 2 hoots...

    Sugar Substitutes

Hello threejays, sorry to hear you've had a tough time of it. Regarding sweeteners, does anybody need them? When I was first diagnosed, my GP told me flat out, stop all sugar and sugary foods! THat was really tough. I stayed off sugar - not using it on cereals, tea or coffee. After a month...

Is Your Olive Oil a Fraud?

Well Friends, I believe in this day and age, it's very difficult to begin to avoid processed foods in any case. Also these days anything can be open to fraud and organised criminals are up to anything that earns them loads of cash. In last couple of years, the horsegate scandal has made the...
