T2 and exercise and refueling safely

I often ride a bike for 4+ hours burning at least 400 cals/hr. In pre-lockdown days I would normally stop at cafes etc to refuel. Now I resort to cycling specialist energy bars etc. I have found only a few that are not coated in chocolate which is not a good feature - melts in back pocket of...

Chromium and/or cinnamon Does anyone take these supplements?

I have been taking cinammon (powder on yoghurt with seeds makes a good dessert) and I think it had some impact but for me the big winner seems to be Chromium - within one week of starting I seem to have dropped 2 points.

    Chromium supplements for T2D

I take the min dose recommended by Holford at 2x2ngrammes/day ("n" is actually the irreproduceable greek mu on the label) This is twice the daily dosage recommended by Holland and Barrett but less than Holford's max which is 600ngrams/day. Chromium supplements for T2D

Curiously this is advised in P Holford's books. I started on minimum dose 5 days ago and already I have significantly better BG levels. Of course I know that a lot of babies have been born when storks are flying around but I feel confident that this working for me. Does anyone have experience?

    BG and HbAC1 measurement

My home test kit (SD code free) results are based on full blood samples. How does this compare to lab test results which I believe are based on plasma samples? The GP says that my HbAC1 reading at 48% is just on the threshold of being diabetic. How does that figure relate to the x.y (for...

disturbing trends in blood glucose levels within the day

Thank you for yr interest. Here goes and I hope it is not boring. For about 5 yrs i have been advised that BG levels were elevated. I assumed that a relatively good diet and regular exercise would suffice. However the upwrd creep continued and in Dec I recorded 7.5mmol/L although the HbAC1...

disturbing trends in blood glucose levels within the day

I am newly diagnosed T2D. BMI is 22.5 HbAC1 is 48. So not a disturbing case BUT despite a good diet, significant exercise 3 times per week I seem to have little control over BG levels. Today was the first day of intra-day testing: AM (fasting) result was 5.5 mmol/L and then 2 hrs after...
