What are people thinking about a second lockdown?

We are also on a local lockdown and it really bugs me that people aren't taking this seriously. I haven't seen my daughter for 8 months as she lives down South and is a front line key worker. I haven't seen my sister for nearly a year as she lives abroad. I just think that we should all take the...

Just tested for the 1st time...

I was diagnosed in November last year, but as my hubby has had T2 for 3 years, it wasn't so hard for me as we already did things differently. I now use Vegi Rice instead of white rice and that keeps my levels low. Potatoes aren't so bad for me, they don't really push my levels up. I use Burgen...

Can stress and worry cause your blood sugar to rise? My hubby is Type 2 and recently has been stressed out, and at the same time his blood sugar levels have risen. Is this normal please? Thanks.

Type2 for 4 weeks and BGC is still high

My hubby was diagnosed around 5 weeks ago and has drastically changed his diet, and takes regular walks even though he's 73. He has recently started eating Protein Bread from Waitrose (LoveLife) and this has made a real difference to his levels as the carbs in it are very low.

Type 2 Diabetic - Diet Controlled - What range should my BG be within?

My hubby is Type 2 diabetic and was diagnosed around 5 weeks ago. We were lucky to have been given a monitor by the nurse and get the Lancettes and Test Strips on prescription. This week my hubby started eating High Protein Bread from Waitrose (LoveLife). The slices are very small, but filling...

    Gary, Newly diagnosed type 2

Hi Gary. My hubby was diagnosed about a month ago and we left the doctors with no information at all, just for him to have another blood test in 3 months to see if he needs meds. I telephoned and told them that I needed some info as we were trying to deal with this blind. I was told to pick up a...

Seeking advice using Glucose monitoring machine

Hi Claire. My hubby was diagnosed about a month ago but didn't see the nurse for about 3 weeks. She gave him a monitor and he is testing before and 2 hours after every meal, so 6 times a day in all. I am also keeping a food diary to see which foods are okay for him and which can raise his sugar...

    Fruit Yoghurts

Thanks everyone for your replies. I actually managed to find low fat and low sugar yoghurts, but he hasn't tried one yet. Things are going well so far, so hope that continues.

    Let down

My husband was diagnosed with Type 2 about a month ago and we left the doctors with nothing, not even a leaflet. After a few days I rang them as we felt we were going into this completely blind. I then picked up a leaflet and got an appointment with the nurse. Luckily, she agreed that my hubby...

    Fruit Yoghurts

My husband was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about a month ago. He has really made some lifestyle changes and no longer takes sugar in his tea. However, he was talking to a neighbour who is also diabetic, and she told him to eat full fat yoghurts as they are lower in sugar than the low fat...
