    Insulin finally

I am on Victosa so have been injecting daily anyway for about 18 months. I am not looking forward to having to inject more but I will manage. Growing up I had an older relative who did not manage her diabetes well, I know the devastating impact that can have [emoji17]

    Insulin finally

I was given exactly the same news yesterday! I am seeing the diabetic nurse on Friday to get started on insulin, the speed of things moving is frightening, still trying to get my head round it like yourself.. At the moment I could sleep the clock round, I am constantly exhausted. I am worried...

    Feeling overwhelmed

I am type 2, high BP, and IBS. I have calcification in my hip joints due to my diabetes and am in constant pain. I lecture in a university, and am currently trying to organise my course for the new semester-online/offline delivery, live lectures and recorded ones with captions. I am on a...

    Change of meds

I am type 2, was on metformin, gliclazide and victosa injection. I also have IBS. I rang my doc on Monday as my bg readings were really high. He suspected a bug, masked by my IBS . He stopped my metformin for a few days and upped my gliclazide. Today I feel totally drained, no energy at all...

    Type 2 + Crohn's Disease?

Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 2 about 2 1/2 years ago. The past few months I have been quite ill and my GP now thinks I also have Crohn's. Does anyone on here have Crohn's as well? Feeling a bit overwhelmed to be honest. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Type 2 High BG - due to stress?

Hi, my fasting BG is usually about 8. When I tested myself this morning it was 19.2. I have a major exam today, could the big spike in my BG be down to stress?

It never rains but it pours...

Yes, when they eventually caught up with him! He stayed until the ambulance arrived but left before the police came. Luckily someone there had recognised him so they were able to give the police his name and address and they went to speak to him later that day.

It never rains but it pours...

The bike is fine - a broken mirror and a few scrapes, but nothing serious :-) It landed on me so I broke its fall! One thing that did make me smile that day - it is actually a retro scooter, all black and chrome, only 125 cc. My partner drove it home while I was taken to the hospital. He...

It never rains but it pours...

Thanks all for your kind words. I have had a really tough few weeks, my three adult sons have had all sorts of problems, I am stressed out at work, trying to cope with diabetes, and then the crash. I was actually on my way to work after attending a diabetic clinic, where the nurse had spoken...

It never rains but it pours...

I was diagnosed with Type 2 about three months ago, and although it took me a while I was beginning to come to terms with my diagnosis, and had started to make changes to my lifestyle in order to help improve my health. I had begun to watch my diet, and take more exercise, and I lost over a...

    Type 1s: Mood

I go for a walk listening to my favourite music - it helps lift my mood, and I know I am doing myself good at the same time. Win win!

    Desmond Course

I actually did get quite a lot from the course, although I didn't need lunch as it has been split over two days and finished at 12.30 :-) So I get to do it all over again this week ....

    Desmond Course

Nope. I have had no info from my doctor at all. I have been ill for months, and was tested for all sorts. I rang my doctor for the results of my most recent blood tests and she told me over the phone that I had Type 2, and that she was going to send me to see a dietitian. About 6/7 weeks...

    Desmond Course

I have been recently diagnosed with Type 2, and my GP has sent me on this course. I go for the first session tomorrow and I have no idea what to expect - has anyone here been on the Desmond course? Is it any use? Thanks.

    Eating Late

I would eat quite late a couple of days a week, but looking back at my records, if anything eating later seems to result in a lower BG in the morning!

    Binge Eating

Thanks both. I am paying for indulging this morning, not only are my levels up, but I have a really upset stomach - not used to the rich food anymore I suppose! Keeping danger foods from my house is not a problem, it is when I am in work temptation is an issue. I am in a shared office and...
