    Type 1 Moving to Majorca

    My hba1c result

Same here. My shopping trolley would usually contain an array of chocolate biscuits and sweets etc. Now, a year post diagnosis, I don't miss them. However the wife does still sometimes find me in the chocolate isle of Tesco saying hello to old friends

    cinnamon

A friend of mine swears by cinnamon as an aide to regulating his BG reading (he's not officially diagnosed as a diabetic) and for helping with maintaining weight loss. I can't find anything to substantiate his claims. Even online medication sellers say that there is insufficient data about...

    Atorvastatin/Lipitor

I've been on Atorvastatin for just under a year. My last 6 monthly diabetic review showed my cholesterol was down and the nurse was no longer worried. If it stays down they are either going to reduce the dosage or take me off of them. Can't say that I've had any side effects, but in the grand...

    Got A Free Tester Today

Thank you for the support on my weight loss and the improved readings for Hab1c etc. It's encouraging when others help me along on this, otherwise I sometimes fell "why bother"? I don't know what to make of the readings being that low to be honest. They were about 2 months apart and if they...

    Got A Free Tester Today

I had a 6 monthly check up with the Diabetic Nurse todsy who ran her usual checks (blood pressure etc) and then asked if there was anything I wanted to ask. I raised the point of my recent low BG readings (1.2, 1.3 and 1.9 mmol/l) and said that this confused me. She was quite emphatic that I...

    Painful Tingling Toes

Saw the Diabetic Nurse todsy and raised the issue about my feet. She tells me that when the body tries to dump surplus sugar through the body this action annoys the body's nervous system. The feet are particularly sensitive to this hence they react more than any other part of the body Hope this...
