The honeymoon is over. Now what?

Hi, I was diagnosed with LADA in February 2020, after being misdiagnosed as T1 since 2013. As soon as I got my LADA diagnosis I was put on insulin, Tresiba and Fiasp. I was to stop metformin altogether. After going onto insulin my weight didn't as much creep up, but go on in rapid speed. I...

Type 1 Insulin Intake and Weight

No I don't know what my last test result was. I have cut down on my carb intake. I have been unable to exercise as I have osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, I'm constantly in pain, and can't stand or walk for long. I used to swim and do aqua aerobics as being in the water helped, but...

Type 1 Insulin Intake and Weight

Hi Tash, no I've not had a c-pep test, or check up since I was rediagnosed last year. The only test I've had since is my hb1ac. My basal is now up to 44 units a day. I have been increasing this myself, as and when I need to.

Type 1 Insulin Intake and Weight

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I was rediagnosed last year with Lada. I had lost a lot of weight before being rediagnosed. In the past year I have put on a lot of weight, but I have found that I have to take more insulin than the normal 1 unit to 10g of carbs. I mostly have to take 2 units per...

I'm already on a medical term licence as I have only started on insulin earlier this year. I got a 3 year licence.

    Eyesight

That would be easier except I also have double vision which requires prisms to be put into my specs, and I need different strength of prism for each prescription. Nothing is ever simple with me lol.

    Eyesight

I swear I think I need about a dozen pairs of different prescription specs to deal with all the changes in my eyesight throughout the day! I already have 3 pairs, 1 for distance, 1 for reading and 1 for computer work......... [emoji22][emoji22][emoji22]

Yes I can hardly touch my right ear never mind my left lol. It is definitely a frozen shoulder. I got a cortisone injection last week and it has helped with the pain I was getting right down my arm and hand and up to the neck. My gp thinks I have frozen shoulder and nerve impingement which is...

    Type 1.5 Frozen Shoulder Pain

Hi, I had a frozen shoulder on my left one which lasted about 2 years. I got a cortisone injection which did seem to take the pain away, but I don't know if it really worked or it was just coincidental, that I was passing the painful stage. I still don't have 100% movement. I now have it on my...

Interested to know about others' LADA / T1.5 journeys

I was diagnosed LADA late February this year. I was misdiagnosed t2 in 2013, which came as a shock as I have no family history of diabetes t1 or t2 whatsoever. I wasn't overly overweight, a size 12. At that time my hb1ac was 78. I was put on metformin, and my hb1ac came down a bit to around 55...
