    Sleeplessness

Thanks folks. My blood sugars are usually good though I am having a phase (as we all do for what ever reason) where my bloods are higher than usual. I'm trying to get them to 7 before bed because I know that helps. I've just bought a herbal remedy to try. The box recommends 2 tablets for a...

Hey folks Can anyone recommend a type 1 friendly sleep aid. I've had a few months where my sleeps been interrupted for one reason or another and it's impacting on my mood and how quickly I become frustrated. Type1 newly diagnosed and struggling

Hi Fiona I was diagnosed when I was 33 (now 36) so feel where you're coming from. I haven't read all the replies so sorry if I'm repeating. I think a low GI cookbook would be a great start for you and really helps to start getting your mind about the sensible way to eat (choosing foods that...

    Contraceptives and high sugars

Morning all (maybe one for the girls!) I had surgery at the end of June and was advised to cease taking my contraceptive pill a month before which I did. It also took me two months for my cycle to resume meaning I've only just been able to restart taking my oral contraceptive. I've been back...

    Help!!!high bloods waking up!!

I think it can depend largely on what you eat at tea time. If it's quite high in fat it can affect you a long time after you've eaten. Sometimes if your bloods drop unexpectly your body can react to it and raise sugars, which may also explain unusual highs. Maybe try a handful of nuts/Apple...

    Night highs

Thanks all. I use Levemir twice a day, I take it 12 hours apart so 8:30 to 8:30. I have two small kiddies so evening meal is about 5:30, I am guilty of a snack at around 7/8 though!! I'm cutting this out from today though until I feel more stable. Usually I just go a little lower carb when I...

I had my very last dose of Levemir today. Never having it again

I have recently been changed to Levemir after humalin I stopped working for me. I have a split dose so 12 units in the evening and 10 in the am. This works well for me. I know how it feels to get frustrated with your long acting. I hope your new one works better for you :)
