2017/2018 Football Season

When I said that we have Stoke at the weekend, I meant West Brom of course. Easy mistake to make - they're both in the Midlands :D

Anyway, I can hardly believe I am saying this, but we won, 3-2 and suddenly we're 14th, rather than ensconced in the drop zone. The bottom half of the Prem is a very tight place this season. Not exactly a triumphant result to beat the bottom team in the table, but frankly I'll take anything at the moment.

Bad luck to the Terriers, John. Not an entirely surprising result but bear in mind that we're still only 2 points above you

Nice to see James Ward-Prowse score a goal; he doesn't get one very often but his crosses have contributed to lots more. I'm amazed Liverpoo have never tried to buy him :).

Smashed em! 3-0, could and should have been more!
Only two points off top place, only because Wrexham won.
On a decent run and a very small injury list, for a change.
Four national league clubs struggling because there is not enough cash dwindling down from the premiership.
One premier player that had a transfer to one of the big clubs, wages, would keep half of the national league in a good financial position.
That is what is wrong, with the financial system in football and how the big clubs hive off too much, with the FAs blessing of course!

Up and down day for our clubs!

Cheers mate. Yeah its still pretty tight and any 3 of the 10 in the bottom half of table could be relegated. Going to be an interesting run in eh.

The consequences of not getting promotion last season or possibly this season is really bad for a professional club in non league.

The prospect of not having enough funding to secure the better players to give us another chance at promotion next season is not looking too good.

Automatic points deductions for any club in financial difficulties.
Some ex league clubs will never get the chance for league football ever again.
For example, Stockport!

And as a footnote, no club in the national league, has little or no chance to make a profit. Most are owned by businessmen with deep pockets.
