Ok 3 weeks perfect diet and crazy amounts of exercise and I'm still the same weight. How can this be? A year or so ago all I had to do was cut out sweets etc and it just fell off without exercise etc. I'm really ****** off. People say I look thinner but surely I would of lost at least 1 lb

You're probably losing fat, but gaining muscle. May be worth getting body measurements and checking them every couple of weeks.

Low carb diet. But it's so weird I've never tried this hard before and loose nothing normally it just happens

I can recommend this site: http://www.dietdoctor.com/how-to-lose-weight

It is of importance to eat enough fat when low-carbing. If you get too little energy you body will interpret this as hard times and refuse to loose the weight. This is about hormones, you know, and if there is one thing you can´t fight it is a hormone.

People keep telling me I should have my thyroid checked. Is this someting you would do

Could be a good idea. Are you extremely tired to the point of fatigued? Poor memory? Difficult to get going? In pain? Loosing the outer part of your eye-brows? These are common signs of hypothyroidism.

Problem is, thyroid care is lousy and it might be close to impossible to get the proper tests done and when they get done the Drs can´t interpret them properly. Your GP will test TSH, a pituitary hormone that tells the thyroid to get to work. If you are very lucky he/she will also test FT4 but it is close to impossible to get FT3 tested while in my opinion FT3 is the crucial test that really tells you what is going on. Then there are the antibodies of course. In any case, get the results along with ranges and post them here and I will help you interpret if needed. I am working on a book on this subject, you see.

you saying that then it is probably not that then. i not tired or fatigued etc. i used to be before i cut out the sugar tho. it was just a thought. i mean to stay at the same weight for 4 weeks and not budge a little at all is pretty weird. like i say it used to be easy

Eating too little can in fact stop weight loss. Don't bother with calories as such, keep your carbs very low, fill up with fat until you are full and be careful with protein as excess amounts of protein turns to glucose and thus trigger insulin. You don't want that. You want to keep insulin down. Insulin release will stop your body from using stored body fat.

And check your thyroid as well. My thyroid problems started with weight gain years before the fatigue hit in earnest.

you say about the doctors not giving up this test easy. well i try not to go to my doctor as he always wants me on pills of some kind. he was desperate to put me on ace inhibitors for high blood pressure. i said no i can do this naturally. my readings of 185/90 are no more like 124/75 so i think i may win that battle. i want to fix myself naturally and not take pills. i could be under eating like you say. im not sure. for breakfast i have 3 large table spoons of greek yogurt with a few almonds and blue berries. lunch ill have a tuna salad or even a low cal micorwave meal if i have to. dinner will be simple like veg a few potatoes. or even brown rice or pasta with a bit of meat

I would be starving on your diet. Have some cheese, eggs, more nuts, olive oil, butter, lard etc.

My newest favourite is celeriac mash made from boiled celeriac and butter or olive oil. I see to that I get at least 50 gram of fat with each meal and a total of 175-200 grams per day but keep the carbs to somewhere around 20-50 grams.

Cauliflower rice is popular among lowcarbers.

im not actually that hungry these days, i feel like picking on bits but just dont. i would go to the docs but i just think they dont know about this sort of thing so would be wasting my time. thinking about it tho. last time i dieted i lost 5 stone. and i wasnt strict with myself like i am now. maybe im not getting enough like you say

Did you lose weight initially?

When I started, I found it relatively easy and I lost 30Kg fairly quickly. Then I stuck and have not lost any weight for several months, though I could still do with losing 20Kg. The reason is that I eat the same food as when I started but, I am not carrying an extra 30Kg around so I don't need as much. You often hear people say that you need about 2200 cals to maintain weight. Well when I started, I needed 3500. I ate around 2200 and so lost because of the 1300 shortfall. Now that I am much lighter, 2200 keeps me in balance. I shall have to increase my exercise and reduce my calorie intake to lose more weight.

its also been said that because im running so much the ive built a lot of mucsle weight

Hi was wondering how can you stop Insulin release so your body use stored fat I am struggling to to loss any weight and am sticking to 1300 calories and am going to gym 5day changing between classes and gym work out but I am just staying the same weight .
