I recently passed my 8th Diaversary. I won’t repeat my whole history but for those that are new to the forum here’s a link to my update last year (if you’re interested!).
7 Years On | Diabetes Forum • The Global Diabetes Community
This year’s blood results stay pleasing despite another new health challenge along the way. HbA1c of 30, kidney, urine and cholesterol results are good. I have managed to bring my weight down further and I am now 7 and a half stone lighter than when diagnosed, so very nearly in the healthy BMI range for the first time in years! My review of results appointment was with the surgery pharmacist this morning, a new one on me. I’ve always seen a GP or nurse previously. I guess so many type 2s following traditional NHS dietary advice need medication added each review, however not for me, so he didn’t have much to say but to keep up the good work and see you in a year!

Thanks as always to this forum for saving me from the traditional NHS dietary advice and put me on the road to low carbing!

Fantastic results there @Rachox - well done.

Thank you so much for sharing, it's very encouraging for so many to see how well the help and guidance offered on this site works.
I for one will be forever grateful to you and many other members for their help.

Let's hope that when the new NICE guidelines are published on 30th July they will be more beneficial than the current ones which in my opinion are shockingly bad.

Once again, WELL DONE.

@Rachox well done on your results - very impressive.
As a long term low carber - like yourself - it's always encouraging to hear others still getting good results and maintaining lifestyle changes. I wonder how our diabetes would have progressed had we not. I was diagnosed 10 years ago now and am certain that if I hadn't made my lifestyle changes I would be facing significant health challenges related to my diabetes.
