I have been a type 1 diabetic for 3 years now and am currently studying A level product design.
When choosing my topic for this year i met a young diabetic who hated carrying his kit in a bum bag as it bounced about and was uncomfortable and not very discrete. We are now working to design a strappy jacket that will have multiple pockets. it will be wearable under a jumper so children at his school are not overly inquisitive about his stuff.
He feels this will improove his control as it will create less of a barrier between himself and the other children his age. it would also make things easier for his parents as he would be able to keep his kit with him at all time.
Would this help anyone else?
