"A new you in 42"

Well I'm glad you are feeling a bit better Scandi, but sorry you are still feeling a bit dizzy, I hope that goes away soon.
Hugs (kram?)

Thank you Zand! Bs now 5.5 2 hours after food though still feel funny. Took met with brekkie. Am going to test regularly today. Need to get some brekkie items for tomorrow so am going to take easy stroll to shop. Will test when get back. Not convinced pee infection as pee was very pale but think it might be met. Might need to stop it. Get results Friday.

Yes I reckon it's the metformin too, it makes sense.

Afternoon, sorry to hear you don't feel well Scandichic. Hope you feel better soon.

I went the gym yesterday. Session with personal trainer this morning - when he asked me how I felt after a rowing like a mad woman "come on let's smash it!" And I replied with a swear word beginning with f without the off, he was shocked - I mouthed it though because I couldn't breath so it doesn't count. I'm old enough to be his mother bless him.

This is the second session I've had to use lucozade. I wasn't hypoing but sugars dropped to 4s mid workout so if I hadn't then I would have gone low.

I've been using increased back ground insulin whenever I've gone the gym as my liver is so shocked I've got off my bum that it dumps a load of sugar. Hopefully this means that my liver is getting used to me actually moving and may be calming down?

Beginners running (crawling) club tonight. And it's forecast to chuck it down.

Taking tomorrow off - going for a walk tomorrow.

Yesterday was a prize winning day. I don't usually go yo the gym on Tuesday, but it was pouring rain so I thought it might be my only chance for exercise so I went. Then it cleared a bit so I spent two hours at the dog park, twenty- five acres and lots of trails. In the afternoon I went shopping. By bedtime my trusty pedometer was registering 15 000 steps, a new high. Hurrah for me!

Lol! Great Mrs Vimes!
You should be able to get a better handle on your BGs this weekend - you're off to the Animas Sports weekend aren't you? I hope you don't mind but I've asked a friend Chris Aldred to keep an eye out for you to make sure you get on okay. Just as well you're having a calm day tomorrow - it's going to an active weekend! Becky.x:)

Thank you for your concern and kindness.
My bs yesterday was 6.2 fasting.
I tested myself half an hour after I'd eaten and was 10. (Tend to test fasting and when I feel funny) therefore walked to Lidl (30 mins there) , bought milk and walked back. Sat down with cup of tea, tested and 4.3. No more test strips left but felt worse half an hour later so hubbie made me eat revolting choccie biscuit. Had cup of tea and went to bed. Woken up at 5:30. Felt **** and raging headache so drank 2 glasses of water. Got up rang in sick as felt totally spaced out and sent in all my lessons for the day whilst feeling dizzy and unable to focus. Went to docs. New doc so got monitor and test strips! Hallelujah!!!!!!! (Although just bought 5 months worth on line :( doc thinks I might have pee infection so done wee test. dn came in and was usual unpleasant self. Asked if STILL low carbing and STILL testing several times a day. The waves of irritation and dislike emanating from this lady are quite remarkable. Told her about weight loss. Explained that I do fasting or if feel funny. She thought I might need to come off met but doc wants to know if got infection first. Got home tested self before finally getting breakfast and 7.3! Feel bit better but still bit dizzy. 7.3 40 mins after food. Happy days!

Really pleased you're getting sorted Scandichic,
Any infection would naturally elevate your BG readings, so it's unlikely - but good that it's getting checked out. Hypos can make you feel pretty awful - surprised it's lasting so long though (I wondered when you said you woke with a raging headache you might have gone low overnight) I'm not familiar with side effects from lower blood glucose levels caused by metformin though.
Glad it's normalising a little though.
If you do head out at any point though please just take a sugary snack with you - couple of jelly babies would do. Really if you feel yourself going low (and beware your sensitivity to a hypo will be impaired at the moment because you've recently suffered an episode) the quicker you can raise your bloods back up, the quicker you will recover, and the side effects - nausea/dizziness and all the other wonderful symptoms that you are suffering will be reduced.
Big happy dance that you got some free test strips! (I'm counting that against today's 30mins!):joyful:

Thanks you've been brilliant. Went to Lidl (30 mins each way) and it was 6.1 when came back. Dizziness wore off within half an hour. Ate something and an hour later 6.2. Give up! Just pleased to feel ok again. Think you should definitely count the dance against 30 mins! Have test strips now so if feel rubbish tomorrow I'll know if too high or low.

hope you soon feel better Scandichic. Try not to get too stressed by it as that will affect your levels too( easier said than done, I know)

So far I've done 15 minutes on exercise bike and had a very brisk walk in town and Asda with additional cardio workouts from Mr E leaving door key in house door so we had to drive back like bats out of hell , then some old codger decided you don't need to look both ways and pulled out in front of us. Mr E then rushed to find me in the queue at Asda panicking that he "lost" his wallet.

Scandichic it's well frustrating when you know you are running higher than normal. I'd normally rage bolus then regret it.
I've found that if I see stand in doctors at my surgery I normally get a 'better' service. Shame you haven't got more than one DN.

Hi Bebo, I am so excited about this I can't wait. And thanks for asking Christ Aldred - like Tesco every little helps! Ive gone from a couch potato for 20 years to really enjoying being active. The pump making it so much easier. Xxx

Hey, don't get me wrong, the physio is brilliant. It was her that gave me the starter exercises (activities) when I couldn't even get out of the chair. (I posted them a few days ago, and I have some more which will put on later). What she said makes sense. My weight loss has slowed down, but thankfully is no longer going in the wrong direction now I am able to move a bit more. What she said is that you have to re-evaluate your exercise activity and intensity every 6-8 weeks. If weight loss is stalled, and you need to lose more weight you need to increase and vary activity a bit more. Methinks I am going to have to put trainers on and see if I can run around the supermarket aisles instead of strolling.

Shes absolutely right

just done some of those chair exercises that Pipp posted and some manic knee stepping in kitchen to tone up.. think it's easier sitting on the bike as bits ache that I had forgotten existed now. Perhaps I'll just let it all hang loose and pretend it's a floaty frock.

Aw, sorry to hear that Andy12345, you have been doing so well. I take it you fainted or puked then?

I believe it is bottom related, if I've read his other post, I would think that unless Andy has a downstairs smallest room, it could count a his exercise for the day.
