"A new you in 42"

...hope you're feeling better this evening Pipp, these bodies of ours soon tell us if we're doing too much...

....when you said about walking round the shops as exercise it rang a bell with me, thats what I've done for ages in my lunch hour, its only since I've been in this thread that my walk's changed to a more purposeful one, and faster...and I'm saving money too!!

...remember too saying I 'dug out' the twistboard and bodyblade, I did, they hadn't seen the light of day for a while...the new addition, the skipping rope is getting regular workouts too..

...@Jamrox, you've got us moving! :)

Pipp just take your time and go at your own pace. I read what some people have done on here and think I've just done 30 minutes most days- but that's 30 minutes more than I was doing pre-diagnosis. You have to balance your other health conditions alongside doing what helps your diabetes. I have fibromyalgia as well as currently severe panic disorder so sometimes I have to break the exercise down into as little as five minute slots. It's all about finding what works and is sustainable for you- no point in doing two hours one day if you are bedridden for a fortnight afterwards! You are doing your best and that's more than enough.
I know, thanks. I will keep looking at your post to remind me when I get a bit ahead of myself.

Thanks, I need to curb the obsessive enthusiasm though.
I seem to have done that, no problem! Trouble is I don't have any enthusiasm at all at the mo......But yes, you do have to look after yourself. Take care

Thank you.

I am impressed with all we have been doing, but more so, the support and encouragement we give and get from each other.

Yes it does Pipp because I really did not want to join at first, but it's great fun and really good at keeping me doing at least some exercise every day.

Another day completed with a 45 minute walk at lunchtime in the warm sunshine.
Nice, so you didn't get caught in the heavy rain and thunderstorm like I did at lunchtime today. Got a soaking and so did the two lines of washing. More exercise running in and out with it.

Not so much warm here as unbearably close. Keeps thundering and throwing showers. Time to dig out the summer tog duvet as it was sickly last night.

I work in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire and it's been sunny all day. I hope you didn't get too wet.

Lol,
That's funny!
Nice day today - dog walking, mowing, hedge trimming and veg garden weeding. I love it when you can enjoy the results of your hard work - great results and a great bit of exercise!
Might need to treat my hands to a good moisturise this evening though! My body's feeling ten years younger, my hands are looking ten years older!;)

35 mins on bike. Not feeling 100% stomach wise.. I'm blaming the second Metformin that I started taking last week.

20 minute walk and a couple of sessions on the rower today, one of 15 mins and one of 10 just now - trying to see if late evening exercise affects my BG in the morning as some experience. Video of choice today was an old Tom & Jerry VHS, tried to find Roadrunner but couldn't.

I do feel better thank you Pollylocks, but i will be making my improvements to exercise a bit more gradual now my body had given me a telling off.

I am loving the twist board body blade and skipping rope ideas but think I will stick with the low impact stuff.

35 mins brisk walk in the evening, in addition to exercise mentioned earlier.

Not feeling 100% either and I'm putting it down to coming off the metformin. It's hard to describe my symptoms today. I've felt as if my heart was in my mouth at times and my pulse is up to about 82. I had got it down to 72. I've felt quite ill today. My bg has been up as high as 6.5. This is high for me. I don't know if there is such a thing as withdrawal symptoms or my body isn't used to the higher levels.

I'll stick with it... tweak the food etc. Only had total 48g carbs today but probably not in the right places! I've put the details on my other thread.

Do or can you measure your blood pressure Peace? Could be useful to know where that's sitting.
