"A new you in 42"

50 lengths of 18 metre pool breast stroke in 32 minutes. Fast running through water, treading water, star jumps, in deep water, 2 lengths front crawl, fast, 2 lengths back stroke. Then floating gently in the empty pool to recover, imagining I was in the sea, somewhere warm. Total time in water 45 mins. Definitely met the physio requirement to increase intensity.
Inspired completed exercise for day by modifying supermarket stroll with trolley into alternating 1 minute stroll with 1 minute fast walk. I remember this method from my fitter days running it is called, I kid you not, fartlek. Did this for ten minutes.

Yes I am exposing myself to your toilet humour comments on the supermarket stuff, but I am well chuffed with my efforts.

Today I have mostly been grateful that rainwater is good for the complexion. Otherwise walking the dogs twice in the drizzle would have been utterly depressing.;)

brilliant. wish i liked swimming - hate water on face, and I'd be afraid that Captain Ahab would be waiting poolside shouting " there she blows"

Tutt! Let other people make the insults. I look on it that the more of us big people go to the pool the more the skinny ones will look odd.

...some of us under the weather today then, me a little but not too much...

..felt a bit odd in the afternoon, took bs and it was 4.3...I know thats probably not low enough for a hypo but it is a low reading for me....I'd woken up at 4am this morning and never got back to sleep, then it was really busy at work and we're one man [woman!] down, so I think I'm just a bit knackered...

....so thought I'd make myself something a bit carby for tea....chopped up red onion, garlic, tomatoes and mushrooms and softened in olive oil, added kidney beans and lentils, lots of herbs and then added the lazy bit, some of those ready cooked Swedish meatballs..always cook too much, half is cooling and will go in the freezer....:p

...so I don't feel energetic enough to use that homemade skipping rope I got [cut up washing line lol] this evening but quite fancy one of my seafront strolls, am going now before it gets dark...the rain has stopped at last!

Andy and Scandichic, hope you're feeling better tomorrow, what a right lot we all are!

I aim to! Said smugly, but pride comes before a fall.
Grrr. OK, I've had enough of this, give me a week to get stuff sorted here and I'm stepping up a gear too. You are really mean forcing me to do this!

Hurt now as well as smug.
You have permission to mock me when I get weighed, as I don't think I am losing weight.

Oh dear, sorry folks are feeling rough.
Hope everyone feels better soon.

Well done. Hope the walks make work in the afternoon more bearable.

The key thing for me is that the lunchtime walks get me out of the office and away from the computer. It gives me time to reflect on the morning and a little bit of peace and quiet.

Hurt? Oh sorry I don't want to hurt you, just compete with you.:sorry:
I would never mock anyone for not losing weight, I have had that problem for so long myself. So we can stay friends on that front, just stop being more active than me! No, seriously Pipp I am really impressed with what you have done today. You are amazing.:)

We all all amazing for doing this. We are making ourselves healthier and encouraging each other.
We may not be perfect but we are trying to get healthier and that is inspiring.

Not really hurt, zand, don't fret.
Now, if it is competition you want this could get serious. A perfectionist, versus a reformed perfectionist. Bring it on!

But seriously, don't take me seriously, coz I don't take myself seriously most of the time. I don't do getting hurt anymore. My only agenda on forum is to learn from others, and hopefully give others info from my perspective and experiences. Oh, and to encourage and be encouraged by everyone else.
