"A new you in 42"

Not immediately but I can go to tesco pharmacy if the feeling persists. It was 110/70 two weeks ago, down from 130/80. I'll wait a day or two. So strange. Bg 5.3 at 05:40 . I'll check it again at 07/20 when I arrive at work, then I'll have breakfast (reduce carbs more). Thanks dear.

....Both the bp readings you give are good peacetrain....I use a bp monitor at home.... Omron, got it as its the same one my GP uses, it measures your pulse too, quite cheap from Amazon, but I only test it once a week as that sort of thing is too easy for me to get obsessive over, already seem to go through bg strips at a rate of knots....

I walked for an hour this morning. I have been banned from ironing for 2 days by my chiropractor who asked me if I'd been lifting heavy suitcases while on holiday! I am getting withdrawal symptoms already as I had planned to iron lots today. Still I have mended the pair of shorts. We're going out for a meal tonight so I have worked out what I am going to order in advance and adjusted the rest of the day's food to fit. If they don't have what I want to order I'll miss out that course 'cos there is no way I am messing up this week after Tuesday's weigh-in.

I've got one of those as well, fun for all the family! Seriously, because I was 160/90 when diagnosed I was 'instructed' to provide a week's daily readings to bring to the DN appointment (two in the morning, two at night to average out). I'm now about 125/70 most times but only test twice a week. Doing it at home helps avoid white coat syndrome and also elevated BP from having traipsed to Lloyds. You should do it after having sat upright and comfortable for 5 minutes beforehand.

I discovered a new way of ironing years ago, when I became disabled so no longer able to manage the conventional way. Wash clothes on a low spin speed, pull into shape before hanging on coat hanger. Hang coathanger on washing line till the item is dry. If anyone wants more pressed garment then I tell them about DIY. But I know it is your way of relaxing zand, so hope you can find another enjoyable activity while the ban is in place.

After scaring myself a bit yesterday, I did 40 minutes in the pool today, comprising 20 minutes moderate speed breaststroke, 10 minutes water running, 10 minutes physio exercises. Feel a bit lazy, but no asthma attack.

well I tried to ignore the ban and I ironed one item and I'm in pain now (ribs and sternum and back) so I guess I'd better listen.

25 mins so far on bike- hoping to do bit more if the metformin tummy lets me ;-( otherwise I'm counting whizzing round doing my week's shopping in Asda in half an hour as the other five minutes. The new layout and new cold air blasting fridges have made me get being in and out down to a fine art.

I have been banned from ironing for 2 days by my chiropractor .

What's the name and address of your chiropractor Zand? :)

40 minutes walk (partly to go to the GP surgery to arrange a date for my next blood tests) and 10 minutes on the rower. Not pushing hard on the rower yet, according to the meter I do about 1500 m in 10 minutes which is fairly easy. Tom & Jerry not so good today, have asked daughter where Roadrunner tape is.

Todays walk was a 45 minute round trip to the local supermarket at lunchtime. And again the weather was warm which made it very pleasant.

Thanks Peacetrain for the title.
A group of us are taking part in a challenge to help us get fit.

It is very informal and individual to you. NO pressure.
The aim is to do 30minutes of exercise every day for 42 days starting Monday 19th May ie Monday.

The exercise can be as easy or hard as you wish. It can be walking , , swimming, keep fit , golf , dancing in your nightie ... what ever you wish
Its meant to be fun , no pressure .

Who's up for it?[/QUOTE

...my walk was about the same length of time as yours julifriend, they're getting longer so I have my lunch at my desk when I get back to work.now..

...Zand, don't go back to the ironing until it doesn't cause any problems for you, then when you're better you can come and do mine as well...;)

..I keep reading about Myfitnesspal in the forum so signed up last night, confusing at first but then wow what a great tool..:) ...almost always make my own lunch and take it to work, and found I can 'make a recipe' of my regular takes, log it and then just zap it in the Food Diary when I've had it, will save so much time working things out, I'm almost thrilled about it!!!

8 minutes YouTube Zumba this morning. That's all the time I could snatch.

15 minutes walk at lunch time.

Just completed a 35 minute brisk walk. I've also washed up a mountain of pots and pans whilst looking after my grandchildren for an hour at tea time. Does that count? Standing at a kitchen sink really gets to my back, right up the left side of my spine.
I don't think anyone noticed I'd done the pots ha ha.

Whoo! Went for my interview for CRT work, and was accepted on the spot. I have taught at this school before, but the head teacher and myself weren't grey haired back then, and we are now!
Another interview next week with another school where I've taught before as well!
Did long walk around huge hardware store looking at bathroom fittings, since hubby has a huge stride, I'll count it as a jog, in high heel boots!
Bloods dropping since finished cortisone, and asthma is better.
Down is good enough for a month, then more rigorous testing, or stress makes me spike a lot.
One packet of corn chips and cortisone equal 22 reading...oh my, never again, worst reading I've ever had, ever.
Walked sloely round the house for an hour and a half, with asthma , and drank a lot, thank goodness it came down, 5.4 next morning...phew!

Congrats on the job offer. Add glad the blood sugars improving off the cortisone. It's tricky sometimes balancing various ailments.

Not feeling too well today. Allergy season. So drowsy with antihisamine I am staying away from the pool. Had a gentle walk in air conditioned shop. Waiting for it to go cooler and will have a 10 minute stroll. Will make up the rest of the 30 mins with physio exercises, perhaps with rest inbetween. After I have had another snooze!

Aw Pipp hope you are feeling a bit better.
A few of my friends found it harder today.
I suppose after nearly a month it was going to get harder.
