I find everyone on here lovely. Some are a bit naughty, but make me laugh. What is obvious is that current posters, particularly on this thread, are so supportive of each other, and that is something I value, and appreciate.
 
A fifty minute walk at lunchtime despite the continuing drizzle. As I pointed out to one of my colleagues at work, the last time I checked I was waterproof so a little dampness isn't really a problem.

To be honest, I can only think of a small handful of days when I haven't walked for at least half an hour at lunchtime in the year or so since I was diagnosed T2. When I was advised that exercise would help with controlling the amount of glucose in my blood stream, I decided that I no longer wanted to sit at my desk for my lunch hour but would use some of that time to try and keep any complications at bay. My work colleagues have been very supportive but don't understand why I prefer to walk alone. I do this as it means I can walk at my own pace and can choose which route to take without any concern for what others think. It also means I get 30-45 minutes peace and quiet each day.

The peace and quiet are just as important as the walking. I used to do the same in my lunch break from work. Some people didn't understand why I did not want to sit talking about work, TV, the boss, or ***** about colleagues. So I left them to ***** about me, while I enjoyed my own company. Only thing that kept me sane. (Though some would contest this)!
 
So, I managed to do the following:
2x8 minute walks, not at any speed, though;
12 minutes of housework, mainly laundry, I know doesn't seem like exercise, but involved bending to machine, stretching to peg it on the line, then stretching to unpeg it, and then fold it all;
14 mins of chair based exercises;
2x2 minutes invisible hula hooping.

Not my proudest achievement of the challenge, but required real effort through my doped up state. Don't think many calories have been used up.

Well I still have 1lb to loose. I have named that pound Tony because its the Tony one I left to loose.
Tony seems to want to be my best friend and stick to me through thick and thin ( or should that be thinner lol).
I have worked really hard for the passed 4 days and Tony doesn't want to leave.

...Julifriend and Pipp we're all of like minds...I'm in quite a large team at work, I love being with them and we're chatting all day so at lunchtime I like to be on my own....it used to be reading the paper over lunch in the canteen but since this thread its been walking..45 mins done today...

..Pipp I think you're doing really well, must admit I tend to give in when not feeling too good...:oops:

Don't let Tony win. Stay away from the scales at least for the next two weeks. Tony will get bored and go bother someone else if you ignore him.

I can't give in because of something I learned from my parents, if you make a promise you should never break it. I pledged 42 days and that is what I will do.
 
We're not stopping at 42 though are we? What will we do after that?
