Yes.@cdpm , do you have food banks in your country?
I'm in a subsidized place with a family member. ButAre you renting privately @cdpm
There was no where to go back to. We already gave the officially required 2 months notice to move out so it will mean homelessness now if we don't stay.I'm sorry @cdpm I think most people would find your situation depressing. I'm a little puzzled regarding the extra rent you have to pay. Was the new amount stated on the contract you presumably signed for your unit, or was it still the old amount? If it was the old amount you've got a case to argue with whoever
Family lives a minimum of 8 hours car drive from me.Could you invite any of your family/friends round to see you at home?
Are there any 'befriending' type groups where someone could visit you at home?
So I went to my 2 health care apps. today that I mentioned previously.
One was a nurse. She explained why my a1c doesn't match my high home numbers. It's because my numbers aren't staying at the 12 to 16s. If they were my a1c would be much higher than the 7.1. And she said the teaching of lose weight you will help your diabetes is old school thinking now. She said this when I told her how my 60 pound weight loss did nothing to help my diabetes. She didnt have any food recommendations just to come back in Nov.
My 2nd health care appt. was with a diabetes counselor. She recommended seeing a Dr about my bowel issues (the fact that most foods send Me right to the toilet ). And she wants to refer me to eating disorder help. As I have a history with eating disorders. I'm not sure if I will agree with that as I will need nearly 7 bucks every appt. (The only reason I got to do the 2 today is they were in the same clinic and I have just moved down the street from it so I walked but when it's icy out I won't be going).
So we're my 2 appts. fruitful?
Maybe idk.
I didn't continue (the medical appts.) because they have not been any help to me.Kia ora cdpm! I was really pleased to read this entry, as at least now you are back 'in the system' and being seen by specialists, and who know of your complex health situation, and all now in these very tough times for many across the globe.
I was intrigued that a diabetes nurse referred to weight loss for type 2 diabetes being old school - what a hoot! The sick fat cell theory is still going strong as far as I know, although I would be the first to say shrinking those things does not necessarily lead to remmission! It does for many, though. Multiple causes and so on in a complex system, the blood glucose regulation system. Lots to go wrong all over the body and in multiple organs, and at cell level, as we know all too well. Anyway. it's a tough road for us also living in 'interesting times' when it comes to diet and type two treatments. As well as the dire straights of our economies for most folks.
I'm pleased that you are living with someone now too - was it a family member if i recall? (I was reading you earlier this morning, and my coffees haven't caught up!) That can be a comfort for sure, even with awful landlords and rent situations. Well, you know we are rooting for you cdpm. And pleased to read you are still hanging in there, and the Forum is a comfort too?
I believe the meals on wheels here stop to chat when they deliver but I could only get one of their meals every 3 days (cost).Could you invite any of your family/friends round to see you at home?
