Lager.
Coors light has about 4 carbs.
Thing with alcohol is that your liver prioritises it as a poison so after a few it can ignore the carbs.
I actually drink Guiness, 18gs of carbs per pint. It'll put me in the mid 6s then start going down.
Perhaps I'm lucky

Sparkling mineral water. It's actually really nice, and different makes taste different.

Mineral water…or when desperate, Coke Light (I know it makes you hungry and not good for me, so it’s not often)..but have alcohol once a year only…It’s Sooooooo boring! But it doesn’t go well with meds and actually IS a poison so I avoid it at all costs 99.5%

I actually like that the poster @smckay titled this thread 'alcohol' - not 'all things to drink during the day and night' !
(I think when folks want to drink alcohol, then sparkling mineral water and Coke light just don't do the trick! Just saying. :).)

I had to go off beer after diagnosis, and every now then I experiment with the low-carb beers for sale. (My low-carb fave is actually sparking dry wines. But too high in alcohol for me to be very productive having even one of those with lunch...)

And I understand what you mean by daytime alcohol - beer was a relatively low alcohol and yummy drink, and fits socially better as a daytime drink, and in warm and hot seasons in particular. So start trying different low-carb beers and 'drink and meter' to find your favourite?

Or what about mixing dry white wine with water? Add a slice of lemon too if you like.
Less alcohol and more refreshing, and a common drink too in many countries.

i used to drink Newcastle Brown Ale by the yard, and was a serious imbiber. I went from 10 stone weakling to 18 stone blimp and could have modelled for the Michelin Man. Then i took control and dropped back to 10 stone and sensible sugar levels.

I now drink whisky instead. I find that one finger of same drops my sugars by 3 mmol/l quite happily, and i am content with the feeling it gives me. I sleep well.

These days I drink either fizzy water or diet lemonade, with lime cordial and a slice of lemon or lime plus ice.
I used to drink rum and coke, but what with driving and excessive heat I gave it up when out of the house and a bottle of spirits lasts about a year when at home..

I did have a lovely genuinely low-carb citrus fruity wine spritzer drink in summers past, same alcohol level as beer (4-5%?) but alas, they stopped producing it. Came in a wee pack of four, wasn't too expensive. Readily available. But, along with a really lovely low-carb beer from a favourite boutique beer brand, gone...gone...gone. Too sad.

Most of the pure spirits are quite good as far as blood sugar goes: vodka, gin, whisky: and then if you want a mixer, get a sugar free or diet drink to go with it. Whisky and soda is probably a good replacement for beer. White rum and coke zero should be a good holiday drink. Gin and tonic would be ideal for lunch, but the tonic can be really carby: you can get diet tonic water of course, but gin and soda might be easier. If you don't like gin, vodka goes with everything.
If you want something in a jug to share, you could make Kalimotxo with diet coke and strong red wine.

What a delightful thread! Amazing (or is it? :D) how cheering and jolly is a discussion on suitable daytime alcoholic beverages.

Thank you @Geordie_P , for the kalimotxo/calimocho drink recommendation. I had to look it up online, but that was very enjoyable too. (I particularly liked reading the webpage on it, from the instituto Hemingway.) Especially important, as any cocktail is about ratios. (Says the ex bartender, cocktail waitress and domestic cocktail-goddess. Sigh.)

So, a calimocho (just choosing the easy spelling/pronunciation-aid form here) is equal parts no-sugar coke and dry red wine - yummy on a warm day for sure. (I added the 'no-sugar' and the 'dry' lest we need reminding! :).)

As I suspected, this concoction was come up with as a way to disguise a bad red. But in these days of massive inflation, a good way to disguise bad (and hopefully - cheap!) reds for socialising is massively appreciated.

Haha at the footy on a Saturday about 10-15 pints, plenty of shots and a few vodkas usually.

Not good for you but its game day

Saturday gone I had about 30cl of vodka on the bus before having about 5 pints in the pub and we got a bottle of apple sourz to drink on the way to the ground.

I do try and stay on the vodka or gin but with Pepsi normally. If I stay on that then my bloods don't change too much. I just inject now and again and eat

Ah yes @MarkHaZ123 - the ol' difference between insulin dependent people with diabetes, and those who don't inject (I am assuming you are talking injecting with insulin?), with common garden variety type two.

We are different beasts. Apple sourz and 5 pints in the pub would contribute to my, what I consider at least, early and unnatural death. I miss alcoholic ciders and beer absolutely, and really absolutely - cocktails. But they contributed to my dire straits with insulin resistance and too sick fat cells. Alas.

I sometimes will adulterate my whisky with diet lemonade though I still do have the odd beer now and then.

Over the last few weeks of Mediterranean type weather I’ve been enjoying rose wine served with very very cold fizzy water. It’s oh so continental

I have still not found a good low-carb beer or lager - apart from Resolution but that's only "acceptable" in my book. So even on hot days, I prefer a icy soda water with a slice of lime these days. Got out of the habit of drinking during the day many years ago and am not going back to it now.

Went to a wedding in July and they served a fizzy Limoux which was good in the heat. Once the sun goes down a nice red or a whisky is fine,

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
My "being good" drink is about 15-20% white wine topped up with carbonated water.
Both cold from the fridge.

When I'm bad I mainly drink cold lager.
