ally1,s BS levels

Hi Ally I used to eat mainly low fat food and my cholesterol levels were aways in the 5s. Since cutting carbs I've not been too concerned about the fat content and at my last review on Monday my cholesterol was down to 4.3 and I had lost 8kgs since August. I did find it difficult at first to get out of the 'it has to be low fat' mindset but am now fully converted with the results to prove it as I've lost another kg since Monday
 
Ally, please don't be scared. As long as you are low carb, increased fats will not make you fat, and may even improve your cholesterol levels. It is only when high fats are combined with high carbs that you gain weight. Look at my own statistics on low carb/higher fat:

I have lost 4 stones, am at my target weight and still struggling a bit not to lose any more.
My cholesterol levels have all improved on each of the 6 tests I've had this year and are excellent.

I eat butter and use it to cook mushrooms etc. and put some on my veggies
I eat mounds and mounds of cheese
I eat full fat Greek yogurts
I eat real mayonnaise
I use double cream in my coffee
I use rapeseed oil for frying
I don't like olive oil or I would add that to my salads.

I am not alone with these statistics, and I am never hungry because fats fill you up.
And Ally I'm exactly the same and eating all that bluetit does. High fat low carbs and the weight and cholesterol will improve. Just read low carb forum the success stories

I'm exactly the same too since @phoenix gave me fantastic info on fat.. I was a Low carber with horrible stomach problems and horrendous pain with supposed fibromyalgia and slow colonic transit and amyotrophy. By adding fat into my diet my brain is hugely better and so is my pain and my body although losing more unintentional weightloss.. I cope by adding my own nutritional balance to maintain my weight. Honest,ore fat loses weight.... And Ally from the foods you list as eating... You need more fat....
 
alliebee, i will give it ago but i think it might be best if i start in the new year though i am cutting my carbs alot

When's your next hba1c test? (I always try to get mine in before xmas-lol!!!)

These figures are looking good, well done Ally, it will make you feel better when they are down continuously,
The LCHF in January will do that for you ally co's you will start to lose some weight. As I have lost weight the numbers Fasting has followed.
 
i,ve no idea but i must have lost some as i,m wearing a size smaller trousers
i don,t have any scales at home
