Am I permitted a rant?

Why don't so many GPs listen to the patient?

Rant over. :-(

Agree fully

Not treated as sentient beings

Got a nice note of congratulations for getting
My HBA1c of 58 down to 42 in 3 months

And my best lipids scores in over a decade
Everything in range .

But no one interested in how

Make my response now like @lucylocket61

Smile nicely while saying "no thank you. I'll just keep doing what is working for me, thanks very much ".

Then a deep breaths and shake off the aaggh feeling, and just go about my day .

And the rant...VERY appropriate :)
Cathartic...so very useful in many ways

Go well.

Yes, the whole power imbalance situation in the exam room. I can’t tell you how much that irks me. I think the best answer is to make sure you’re on the same wavelength as your doctor and let everyone else know what that wavelength is. Myself, I’ve put a lot of effort into picking my doctors and staying with the ones who I feel do a good job. The same with whatever health facilities I need to go to. I get the sense that this ability to choose doctors and other healthcare resources is not so readily available through the NHS.
I have zero choice of my surgery, doctor or diabetic nurse. I am in a village. There is no alternative. Surgerys and gp are allocated by geographic location. If you upset them you can end up being removed from their list. It's a monopoly.
