You are also entitled to go into your Practice and ask for a copy of your blood results... Without seeing anybody....
Our receptionists will just print off ours if asked. I always get a print out of my tests and email my diabetic consultant the results, and also my relative who is a specialist in haemotology and organ transplants. I get their verdicts before speaking to my GP so I know what I'm talking about to the GP. My GP knows what I do and indeed encourages me to consult with my endo...(i just do this by email) and get a response back within 2 days..
Longterm it is the aim for Patients to be able to see their blood test results online if you are registerd with your Practice as an online Patient. It is a little while off yet though....some Gp's will be slower than others to initiate this....
As previous poster said, if it was serious they would re do immediately.
I too am having to wait 13 weeks for a retest of some of my results..(b12 and others) but as I have sought advice from my endo and relative. I'm not worried.
Do ask your receptionist for a copy of your results... There should not be a problem requesting these to be printed off for you.
