Best Magnesium supplement and when to take it

Hi
Which magnesium supplement is the best.
And when should you take them.
I’ve bought some from Amazon and they are magnesium citrate ones, also I take them at night but I’ve been wide awake for hours after and I was hoping they would help me sleep.
Should they be taken in the morning or night normally

........ I was hoping they would help me sleep.
Magnesium citrate supplement has many health benefits but it not to aid sleep. However, it does prevent painful night-time cramps. It is recommended that you take magnesium citrate with food, so any meal time would be good. But it will take a few weeks before you start feeling the benefits.

Yes I think it’s the wrong ones that I’ve bought. They’ve definitely helped with bowel motions but not for helping me drift off like ones I took years ago, I’ve forgotten the name of the ones I’d bought but on research now I’ve discovered I probably need either the magnesium ones with all 3 forms of magnesium in or the magnesium glycerate ones and I’m wondering does anyone know of a good one I could try

Hello, just jumping on this thread to say that I've been taking Daemon Power magnesium complex (3 tablets per day) for a couple of months and have noticed a real difference in how I feel, and I'm Type 1

Hi @PatsyB - I use Magnesium Glycinate which I order from Amazon. I find that it helps with my sleep and have noticed a notable increase in the occurrence of REM sleep (when you dream) and also that my thinking seems to be sharper than before, although I'm not sure whether that's down to the magnesium or my body becoming more efficient in using the ketones that it produces.
