thanks @Guzzler.
So much confusion as i thought exercise and low - moderate carb is the way. i have always been active and going to gym.
i wonder if i should go back to old ways of eating what i like, drinking what i like and stop this daily multiple finger pricking((
seen no progress for last one week.
It sounds like you had a cup of tea and then went out and played tennis. That being the case, your liver has generated the energy needed to deal with the exercise demands and keep your organs running etc, because there was no or insufficient food to fuel the demands being asked. Try eating something with the tea next time perhaps, and see if that makes a difference.
Your liver is doing exactly what it should do- why would you want it to stop behaving normally? So, i was 6.5 this morning. i woke up, had some tea with milk and then i went to play tennis for an hr.
i came back and checked, its shot up to 7.5
whyyyyy??
anyone know? is it because my liver has stored glucogen and its releasing them while i was playing tennis? how long till liver runs out of this option?
Agreed. Was just miffed at elevated blood sugar numbers.Your liver is doing exactly what it should do- why would you want it to stop behaving normally?
I do sympathise. Treating diabetes can be a hard row to hoe, with disappointments as well as successes. Don't give up!!! It took a long time for your numbers to get to this level, and it will take a while for you to master this very complex subject and find the best way forward for yourself. You are on the right lines, but maybe the carbs need to go a bit lower, and as Tophat1900 suggests, you may need to modify your approach before exercising. I struggled with this for quite a while. Nowadays I eat a little sugar literally as I go out of the door to exercise, and this never shows up on my meter as a spike, I presume it is all used up before I get home. This may not work for you, but there will be a method to suit you, you just have to experiment and find it.thanks @Guzzler.

The first reading per date is fasting and then throughout the day as I eat . Normally I eat breakfast around 7:30 to 8. Lunch is around 12 and then dinner by 8 or so.I do sympathise. As well as previously Mentioned it could well be the milk that does it. Is seriously affects my BG I have stopped taking milk in coffee and substitute double cream and what a difference it has made. No rise in sugars. So, i was 6.5 this morning. i woke up, had some tea with milk and then i went to play tennis for an hr.
i came back and checked, its shot up to 7.5

Usually 10-20 minutes beforfe I start eating and then I take reading at 1 hr and 2 hr mark. Not exact 1/2 hrs but around that time. All the high marks are after 1 hr of feed. How long before and after eating?
To achieve effect fat burning you need your body to have run out of glucose for fuel. So I would suggest very low carb to "guarantee" this. The actual level will be different for everyone but 20g per day would seem to ensure fat burning for most people.Agreed. Was just miffed at elevated blood sugar numbers.
I do drink protein shake after tennis and I found that after an hr my blood sugar had gone down. Does this mean I can handle protein sugars better or it's just coincidence.
Also, do I have to be ultra low carb for body to use fat as energy or it will use what I eat so if I eat more fat, it will use that for burning.
