Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

Sweetex, but it's awful. Have ordered some Total Sweet, as recommended on this thread, it should be here today hopefully.

I only drink black coffee no sweetener, so I don't have your problem. Lucky me.
I like Asda sparkling water, it's about 17 p per large bottle, nice and cheap and its a nice change.

I've used Sweetex in my tea for above 30 years. I agree, it was awful at first, but I soon got used to it and couldn't stand the taste of anything else!

I may try bottled water Milly, as I don't really like the tap water, it makes me feel sick.

I am hoping the same will happen to me Bluetit, I just have to persevere.

Mushroom omelette for breakfast/lunch and a cup of tea.

Trying to find an alternative to milk as drink lots of cups of tea. Couldn't imagine it with cream in.

Doing ironing in a bit, so that will be some excercise.

Have you tried testing your bloods after tea with full fat milk ? You may be ok ! I am ok with full fat milk as long as I don't have too much of it

I have skimmed milk in my tea because I hate it creamy. I know there are more carbs in skimmed, but it's that or nothing for me. All I have done is reduce the amounts of cups I have throughout the day. I didn't think I could do that, but by keeping a bottle of water at my side, wherever I am in the house, I drink that - because it's there! I am now surgically attached to this bottle. I have 2 plastic bottles of tap water (delicious water here where I live), one with me and one in the fridge.

No, haven't checked my bloods after drinking tea, I will see what they are like in a morning after my tea but before breakfast.

I use semi-skimmed milk, also drinking lots of water.

Shaking whilst ironing = not good.

Skim milk, or nonfat milk, contains 12.3 grams of carbohydrates per cup. This increase in carbohydrate content compared to whole milk occurs because removing the fat to make skim milk increases the concentration of its other components. The fat content in skim milk is much lower, less than 1 gram per cup, and the protein content is higher, about 8.75 grams per cup. Skim milk generally tastes less creamy than whole milk.

You are quoting from an American website. They use Cups as measurements whereas we use millilitres. Also, unless your milk was produced in America, you can't really use that information. American cows are generally not fed the same and their milk is likely to be totally different from ours.

I buy Moo UHT skimmed milk. On the box it says 4.5g carbs (all sugar) per 100ml.

Oh, I see, sorry Bluetit.

Scottie.. Is this with all the work that you were going to do??

Hello Clive, how are you?

Yes, BG going down, quite pleased with myself.
Scottie, just want to add that when your sugar levels have been high for a while, as your sugars reduce, you can experience false hypos .. So you feel shaky and odd .. If you feel like that and test your sugars and they are comming down .. Then don't worry .. It's just your body getting used to the lower sugar levels .. Don't go below 4.0 ..four is the floor .. Lower than this you need to take action to increase your sugar levels !
