I am struggling with keeping my blood sugar regular and have tried various medications. Metformin didn't agree with me, tried dapagliflozin but eventually it upset my bladder although did help along with glicazide. Now just on 80mg of glicazide but putting on weight (which I don't need) and blood sugars raised. Take creon with every meal and still have tummy issues too.
What medications do others use? Any ideas, suggestions welcome!
Have you been tested to see how much insulin you are producing? My (limited) understanding is that the T3c folk are insulin deficient, so logically (I stress I am not a doctor) it would help to know how much insulin you are producing before you ask about medication. Are you seeing a hospital endocrinologist?
There aren't that many T3c folk here so you may have to wait a while to get a response, Honestly, I think your best bet is to get a referral to a hospital endocrinologist, as some GPs can be a little out of their depth if you aren't a standard T2. (My apologies for stating the obvious if you are already seeing one for your diabetes.)
And as far as weight gain goes, as a slightly insulin resistant T1 I control my weight by low carbing, but I have the option of adjusting my insulin to my food intake, and I freely admit that I have no idea how compatible that is with creon use and EPI.
Good luck
