It did not affect my levels when I tried it some years ago, I just found it to be a bit of a faff, mucking about with blenders when a good splash of double cream in my coffee did much the same job.

The general rule is that any drink with sweeteners of any kind, or any fats of any kind can break your fast.
Basically, it has to be an unsweetened, black coffee; any coffee beverage other than that will likely break your fast.

Whose rule is that? It's certainly not any rule I recognise.

You're quite free to do what you want - but it is not necessarily something that other people might agree with.

I think it makes sense.
Isn't the definition of fasting not taking in any calories?
(Yes, it can be debated that a drink with sweeteners is still fasting.)

I think sweeteners could activate a cephalic insulin response in some people. The insulin release would trigger the body to utilize glucose from the blood stream thereby breaking a fast.
