I have diabetis since last 2 years. I am taking insulin Lantus and novo rapid.I don't know still it's type 1 or 2 and my doctor also unknown about it. I have not done c-peptide. Can it help for me, anybody knows about it?

A C-Peptide test will tell you how much insulin your own body is producing. This test will help. A better test is the GAD antibody test though which will confirm if you have the auto-immune variety.

If you were very much overweight at diagnosis and have progressed thru to insulin you could be T2 that has progressed to insulin. If you weight has been near normal or even below normal then Late onset T1 is a more likely diagnosis. Yes, the c-peptide might help but if you had overweight T2 for a long time it is possible it might have damaged your islet cells so it could be difficult to tell the difference between T1 & T2.
