Very interesting reading these last posts, I was diagnosed as Steroid induced Type 2 a year ago and it's a nightmare, I have been on Steroids for 34 years and they think this is the outcome, I am a skinny 9 stone young 70 year old and never thought I would have this, my GP said I don't have to test my BG but I do as my readings go round in a circle they said to eat anything in moderation as it's the Steroids that are spiking the blood and I cannot reduce them, I have two BG meters which read differently, I start every morning at around 6 to 7 by early afternoon it's anything between 17 and 22 then at bedtime it's about 12 to 14 same every day, then I thought I would do a trial with the carbs myself, I need them for my problems but by reducing the amount of potato, bread etc they are down a bit, I did cut out sugar when first diagnosed but nothing food wise seem to help, whether a salad or a bar of chocolate the readings are the same, so I do feel for you it's worrying when the readings are so irratic. If there is anyone out there with type 2 and on Steroids with the same problems please advise me if you can keep the readings down.
