Been quiet in here for a while. Thought I’d post today’s meal - healthy balanced diet carnivore style: beef, lamb, pork and eggs all on the same plate. Anyone else on board with World Carnivore Month? Worth a separate thread?

Just cooked the bone in rib pictured in the post above. Reverse seared. Yum. Was meant to be Linner, but was v hungry so it became brunch!

Lunch / dinner? aka Brunch?

Lunch / dinner = Linner
Breakfast / lunch = Brunch

Someone on Twitter suggested Brinner, but Blunner is good too.

Very unlikely to be boring old OMAD as I don’t think it’ll be enough for the day, sizeable though it was.

Haven’t posted here for a while, but today’s main meal probably sits best here. Herdwick lamb rack from Jen Unwin’s butcher son!

Oh no! And I've just been complaining about having gone off the idea of meat! If some of that was in front of me, I might change my mind!

I was going to suggest you give carnivore a try... that and maybe some fasting might help.

Just watch out for hypos.. it's a strong way of getting blood sugars down.

Did you get them in person or delivered?

Delivered. Ordered a quarter lamb as wasn’t sure of how much space it’d take in my small freezer. I’d go for a half next time so long as I let the freezer stocks dwindle enough to leave room! He calls you beforehand so you can tweak the order a bit - I asked him to leave lots of fat on each cut and also switched out a lamb leg for shoulder as I prefer shoulder. The lamb is delicious.

Butcher, cheese shop and fishmonger all within steps of each other about 1.5 miles from me. This morning’s haul - Picanha, pork chop, kippers, 3 types of cheese and a generous lump of beef fat thrown in for free.

This delightfully fatty piece of rolled brisket has just gone into the slow cooker.

I have been banned by my children from trying rabbit, so when I was in Morrisons for berries and some yogurt.....but I tend to take a look at the meat and fish area. I noticed Ostrich burgers, took a look at the back and put that back. Next to the burgers were "real" steaks. I took a look at the back expecting some sort of additions:

Not perfect but I tried them out of curiousity

I was pleasantly surprised, but I will ask if I can have freshly cut steaks at the counter (and my regular butcher).
