It's no good looking for sympathy here.We used to live in a house with white carpet and it was even in the bathroom and kitchen and we had 4 kids.

Once a week? My flat is lucky if it gets cleaned once a month!Im a bit baffled, no matter what type of flooring you have you need to clean it every week, well I thought that was normal anyway.
I have a dyson vacuum and it barely manages and we vacuum every day. Have to empty it about 4 times and its just one room and a hall. In my defense we got the carpet before we got the dogs.Oh no that would be a nightmare to try and clean up.

Yes I have the attachment. Great big huge 100 lb plus dog is terrified of the vacuum. The other one is like 10 lbs and couldn't care less. You have to actually bump her with the vacuum to get her to move. We used to have a chocolate lab/australian shepherd cross that loved being vacuumed.Save time. Hoover the dog.
Seriously - there is a dyson hoover attachment that is actually designed to do that.
A friend of mine with a golden retriever got one. Says it changed her life. And the dog LOVES it![]()
I have 2 dogs and one wife, I like my carpets as the dogs don't slip when walking around on it and they can lay down anywhere in the cottage as its fully carpeted. (My dogs do not/ are not allowed by me to lay on hard surfaces) My wife vacuums the carpets every day and washes when she needs to.
My mothers cat once jumped on top of their pot belly stove and burnt all the pads on his feet.
No he died of old age.As long as the cat didn't go on the fire all's well.![]()
