Carpeted Houses

I see the OP has been banned again, he will have time to carpet his house with straw or something now.
 
Just to be contrary on this thread ... first thing I did moving into my current house was to rip out all the ugly cheap laminate flooring and put carpets in. Warm; comfortable; kinder to feet and joints; and also it is possible to kneel on the floor to fix things without being in agony after 10 seconds..

I thought long and hard about buying a Dyson (and planned to for many years), but I couldn't justify (much less afford) the price. There was also the concern about the Dyson ball technology being able to get around/under beds and furniture.
I ended up getting a different model. I have 2 dogs, a Border Collie and an Australian Shepherd who just love to leave hair everywhere (yes, they do require additional brushing every week). The cleaner makes easy work of getting that hair up from both the carpets and from the hardwood floors.

Just finally getting rid of carpets in bungalow we bought last Oct. yaaay! Getting polyflor down instead, thank goodness. Everybody I've had out for quotes reckon it's better than the karndean flooring we had put in last house and it's half the price! Double yaaayyyy!!!!
 
We took out carpet in longe/diner & put in laminate & a large Chinese rug. First problem was guys putting down floor removed carpet gripper round edge of room & discovered it had been nailed through a water pipe & nail was all that was plugging pipe. Laminate shows up every spec of dust & fur so needs mopping at least every other day. Rug gets done twice a week at least & cleaned about every 3 months. Kitchen Lino is mopped every day more for hygiene than anything

I read years ago that the "traditional" almost floral/leaf pattern carpet design comes from the olden (medeval) days of just throwing "****" on the floor & then covering it up with more straw..?

Of course the Roman influence of mosaic underfloor heating had long since died out...

Just to highlight what I meant about carpet design... Lol, this classic.

 
Henry never had to clean up after his self so he could get away with that trick.

I wonder if the Capon he was eating was low carb.

Well the poor bird is less likely to be involved in "contributing" to the production of any eggs.
So in some respect? Zero!? :nailbiting: ;)
