For users of Patient Line, I’m suggesting you check your repeat prescriptions. I went to log in yesterday and found the site had been updated. After checking the appt time that was the purpose of my log in, I explored the new site and I went into the repeat prescription section. All my repeats are usually 2 months supply but about half of them are now only 1 month’s worth. I rang the surgery and they said there’d been a glitch during the change over to the new site and it would be fixed soon.

I also accessed it yesterday, after struggling all morning for it to agree to sign me in. I checked all the different tabs and discovered two things wrong with mine.

1. The on-line appointment system was showing nothing, with a note saying my surgery doesn't allow this facility. (It does and has done for years)

2. Under the consultations tab it said "nothing in here". I have always been able to view all consultations. They are not hidden from me.

There is a support contact email form, so I sent one off mentioning these. I had an immediate automated reply, then a couple of hours later a full response. explaining there are still some glitches to iron out since the upgrade.

Thank you @Rachox ! I'd never have thought to check.

It seems another battle is imminent, as their stupid system is now adamant that 25 days of medication will last me 30 days.

I hate the phrase "New and improved" because it never is. There is no mention of the Nurse Practitioner so I can't book appointments to see her. I am pretty sure I could do so before.

I've never been able to book a nurse on-line. Only the GPs. Shame, because it would be useful.

I've just checked again. The on-line appointments are now showing, for what they are worth (nothing in June, first one 2nd July, and all are very early crack of dawn ones when I am still in my pit.) Good job I don't need one at the moment!

The consultations page is still blank.

I don’t like the new appointments page. You can only look at appts one day at a time now.

I spent most of my life working in the IT industry, operations, programming, systems analysis, database design, database administration, training, technical pre-sales - the good old days.

I'm appalled when I hear of so many problems after an upgrade, don't they test this stuff any more or has management decided that to cut costs, they'll leave that bit out and fire fight after the event. I saw it beginning to happen in the 90s, with disastrous results then.

It's impossible to develop completely 100% perfect software, but I'm sure something better than what seems to be provided isn't that tricky.

I used to work for a company that supplied specialist software to broadcasters, for programme scheduling and transmission automation. Small changes in the software were tested extensively, sometimes for months, before they were allowed to go live. I suppose the difference here is that the end user cannot withhold payment or go elsewhere.

I checked my account today, but didn't get very far. Neither my email nor password were recognised at login - it even told me they had no record of my email ID. So much for progress...

Oh no, it did take a while to get in, I had to try several times. I hope you get it sorted soon and don’t need to request or book anything urgently.

@Rachox and @Bluetit1802 do you have the same provider? I have Evergreen Life which used to be i-patient but I don't have any repeat prescriptions so I can't check that.

Mine is Patient Access, I think Emis used to feature in the name too but I can’t see any reference to it anymore.

If you look in the privacy section, it says
PATIENT ACCESS is provided by Egton Medical Information SystemsLimited ("we" or "EMIS")

So it does! Needs a bit of digging to find it!

I tried to log in to re-order meds today. I got a screen saying they had 'improved' the system and would need me to log in with email and patient id/password. I tried what I thought was my password, but it wasn't accepted. I clicked on the 'forgotten your password' and was asked for my email which I entered. I was then told my email wasn't recognised!
I tried to do a new registration, but need to get an access code from my gp surgery. :banghead:

I found this online:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/05/31/patient_access_app_titsup/

So it seems I'll have to go into the surgery on Monday and hand in a paper meds re-order.
Anyone who usually re-orders meds or makes appointments online should check if they still have access.
