what Christmas present memory do you have from childhood past .....

Me.... ( I am thinking festive tonight )

Soap on a rope ...always avon peach ...and felt tip pens from woolworths .... :)

I always used to get a satsuma and a packet of polos in my stocking. I remember 1 year i had to sleep on a camp bed in my parents room. I smuggled a torch into my sleeping bag and tried to open my stocking at about 3am before getting moaned at for making too much noise. I thought i was being so quiet!

Christmas 62!
Brand new first ever two wheeler, I was really made up. Then new year and the coldest weather ever. Never saw my bike again for over two months!!

Sleeping on cushions on the floor of the front room at my grandparents, next to the tree with the lights left on all night, fire crackling in the grate, squashing a hard box that turned out to contain a picture of ballet dancers, I was into ballet dancing at the time, and sucking one of those stripped candy canes.

The smell of chestnuts roasting, and my first can of impulse musk
reminds me of my childhood.

Waking up and going into the living room to find it all festooned with paper chains, and the tree all decorated and lit up with real candles!

The whole family used to spend Christmas day at my grandparents when i was very young, and I never ever realised that my great uncle used to slip out of the room and dress up as Father Christmas to deliver our presents. It was years later that I found this out!

Going to the theatre in Liverpool to the pantomime - I still vividly remember Captain Hook and the alarm clock swallowing crocodile in Peter Pan! :p

Robbity

A sewing machine supposedly to help me with my Needlework GCE. I thought I was getting a Fidelity record player after seeing it in a shop window in town with my mother's name on the SOLD label.

My sister got the record player....:arghh:

A large Saxby's pork pie with fresh tomatoes for breakfast every Christmas morning and Cydrax with our Christmas Day lunch.

That's why it is my best ever kids present. Wow! Yeah! Never did find out how my parents could afford it! Second time on it used front brake only ended up on the road! Ow! Right over the handlebars!

Rose scented soap & talc from an elderly relative - always said thank you with a smile but really don't like the smell.
Mom saying I'll go and check if Father Christmas has been and taking ages whilst she made a cup of tea!
