Same here. One Christmas I got a huge 4-5 storey Sindy dolls house. I can remember my dad taking ages to build it and me spending ages putting everything in it. Then my cousin came! She, for some reason or other, decided to do a roly poly on my bed and yes, as her feet went over so did my dolls house with it. I remember crying my eyes out, my dad being cross and my cousin being quickly taken home without even as much as a sorry. My dad fixed it as best as he could but it was never the same and not very sturdy again
Have to put it down to jealousy lol,I still have my caravan and some other bits in my loft not sindy though I cut all her hair off with the hump.still have my baby beans doll and my flyer roller skates and I must confess I do get it all out once a year my son had ago on my skates he said they were dangerous pfft wrapped him up in cotton wool too much I think.
Nothing like the good old days.

My and sister and I always got something new to wear on Christmas day , we had to choose it from a catalogue , I think the money was paid back all year , once a week ....

I also gave my doll a hair cut. It looked awful. I also drew in her eyebrows darker with a biro which turned them blue. My Mum was cross with me! I wanted to make her look fashionable

Did you mum not tell you about frozen Charlotte and why it was called that lol.
Does anyone remember there parents or grandparents doing the Christmas hampers, this was a big thing for us when we we kids.

I also remember one year I had an "aga". Made of tin plate and there were parafin sticks you could buy (like a small version of a firelighter) that could be put in the burners and lit. Don't remember if I actually managed to "cook" anything on it. I did see one a long time ago in a toy museum in Brighton. Can you imagine us getting anything like that now?
