cleaning hands

Hi there, can anyone tell me how my son can clean his hands before finger prick without using water?? I understand wet wipes and hand sanitiser may affect the readings he gets.

There are specialist products on the market for this purpose, one is called Dia-Wipes and if you do a Google search I'm sure you will find them.

Failing that just wipe away the first drop of blood on a tissue and test with the second drop, that's what I do if there's no hand-wash facilities available.

I rarely wash my hands before testing and if I do I just use water.

I second using the first drop of blood to wipe over his finger and then use the next drop to test.

I have tested over a long period to see if washing my hands with soap/water and not washing,it seems that for me it makes no difference that's only what I have found,everyone is different

I just use my grand children's wipes. They make no difference to the end result and they are really cheap. @aj78 after reading your post above I made sure to go through and fix my spelling mistakes so I don't get in trouble I hope you have a lovely day.

The Op should get a box of Medi-Swabs to use on the sons fingers, they are cheap.
