Hi there, can anyone tell me how my son can clean his hands before finger prick without using water?? I understand wet wipes and hand sanitiser may affect the readings he gets.
Thanksx

There are specialist products on the market for this purpose, one is called Dia-Wipes and if you do a Google search I'm sure you will find them.

Failing that just wipe away the first drop of blood on a tissue and test with the second drop, that's what I do if there's no hand-wash facilities available.

I second using the first drop of blood to wipe over his finger and then use the next drop to test.

I have tested over a long period to see if washing my hands with soap/water and not washing,it seems that for me it makes no difference that's only what I have found, everyone is different:)

I use the diawipes they are fairly cheap on line x

Coff? ????

Just seeing this now. My niece got ahold of my mobile, thus the nonsense letters. It's come to my attention that this absurdly mild mishap was forwarded to an administrator, listed as spam. My best suggestion would be to chill out. You take care.

I just use my grand children's wipes. They make no difference to the end result and they are really cheap. @aj78 after reading your post above I made sure to go through and fix my spelling mistakes so I don't get in trouble :) I hope you have a lovely day.

Kids these days lol

Perhaps the OP means when out and about and not near a tap?
Perhaps, but there are always taps somewhere or another.

The Op should get a box of Medi-Swabs to use on the sons fingers, they are cheap.

I was thinking of a country walk or similar.
