Deaths linked to diabetes are mostly due to heart disease and strokes, the risk of these is reduced with lower blood pressure.
I probably wasn't clear enough. I meant more the aim for lower than for those without diabetes. As was said earlier, levels okay for someone without diabetes were a bit high but what you said likely links into that. Getting that sweet spot so not too high or too low and making sure drugs aren't forced on us

I have never been told that I should aim for lower, maybe I've never been in a position where my levels are seen as a problem.
