I have no idea. I am a carer for my adult son, who lives with me. I have no plan. That said, the statistics are in your favor. I'd be interested in hearing how you're protecting yourself and how you are prepared to manage if you become infected.
I have only been diagnosed with asthma for about 3 months. I have a helpline asthma charity number I could ring. Thanks.@lucylocket61 does that mean you have no experience managing your asthma with a cold or influenza? And you don't know what medications and food you need to have on hand? And what actions to take if you have a cold or influenza and have an asthma attack on top of it?
I don't have asthma, nor am I knowledgeable about it. I only have lung damage.
This would be a good conversation to have with your doctor, or perhaps someone associated with a non-profit organization that serves those with asthma, or a support group, or an online forum.
This might help you, just change the emergency number to where you live after you print it out.I have only been diagnosed with asthma for about 3 months. I have a helpline asthma charity number I could ring. Thanks.
Here's an example. This was me with my illness (virus/flu?) At xmas. This day I ate nothing but my bs were all over the place. Really not sure what the spike at midday was because i can categorically say i ate nothing. We were due to see retake that (tribute band). Meal first then show. I couldn't stomache one bite and left for home. Hubby was worried as I hadnt eaten properly for several days. Zilch appetite.had read the same, @Winnie53
and interesting to hear about your run in with flu
i think as @Mr_Pot says we ran way higher for longer before DX, so i guess it's worrying, but little we can do
and in preference to get REALLY sick RIGHT NOW, i would my bodies defences to save me now , and defer it all day long until a few more years if i could (I hope )
when you say bg's up..here i'd say from 5/6 mmols to 9/10+ mmols would cause me serious concern if i couldn't find a food reason of sorts,
what jump did you find with the flu ?

I had a big asthma fridge magnet with similar instructions on it up to last week when my beer fridge died. I forgot to take them off before the delivery driver took it away after setting up the new fridge.and it did make me think that in THAT situation i'd be no good ..so best to prep missus, and pin to wall ..JUST in case..
and hope it's never needed..
Yes, that is a template for the asthma plan I have, in agreement with the asthma nurse. Here's what the Asthma UK mob have to say about Coronavirus

It matters a lot to me and is in front of my mind cos my late mum got a gum infection which didnt improve quickly with two different types of antibiotics. It sent her BG into orbit, she became very ill and died suddenly at home of a coronary event. Dont forget there is no treatment for this disease so you really are in the life/death casino if it gets critical with underlying disease. Just look at the WHO reporting, of the mortality so far the second underlying disease is Diabetes, top cardiovascular, both linked and age 60+. I qualify on both counts and would prefer to live.
Plus about fifty other magnets, mainly heart foundation and Diabetes Queensland membership magnets that were collected over the years they would have gone in the junk as weli. But I know you'll have the asthma guide back asap... Be strong, it's gone to a better place.
Mortality rate...3.4%

And elsewhere it's being reported that it's already mutated into 2 strains with 1 more aggressive than the other and at least 1 person in the US has tested positive for both simultaneously.
This news item is behind a pay wall but you can read the headline....

Yes, worrying... Have been reading that in a few places
