Cramp in my calf's

Can we get an update on this please...?

Having calf cramps at night these last few weeks myself. Did you find out the cause? Did the K2 help?
Try "twitching" the muscles just above the ankles, I find it helps. The heart naturally relaxes at night reducing blood pressure hence reducing blood flow in the legs. Twitching the muscles just above your ankles helps blood flow in the feet and legs. I find it both free and effective, well worth trying!

Have to say @Mike Solomons

Without the underpants part I'd have agreed entirely.

And it clearly works for you.
So bravo.

The pants parts ...well it sounds odd

I can see why tight briefs might be cause or disrupt blood flow in some way.

But so many varieties to wear these day (boxer type fan, here )

Any reason why they would be any more of an issue then wearing say, trousers .?

When you say 'twitching', do you mean tensing / contracting...? And by "muscles just above the ankles" do you mean the calf muscles...?

I feel like if I tensed my calves it might bring on a cramp, so I definitely want to avoid that.

Actually, it feels like there are always what I'm going to call 'micro-contractions' going on all the time; making my calves quiver. It's happening right now and it's midday.

I had a serum B12 test recently from the GP, which apparently came back "satisfactory". The reason I had requested this though, was that I had previously paid for a private active B12 test which came back high... not sure if that means anything. (apparently my GP surgery can't / won't test active B12)

I've got some high quality magnesium coming today from Amazon, hopefully that will help the situation.

I haven't worn underwear in bed for a long time.

Hello. I'm with you on the twitching. My doctor says it's 'restless legs' and it is linked both to diabetes and low iron. It's like there are little animals moving around under my skin and I'm aware of it whenever I'm sitting still. It's also often present with cramp too so we're ticking all the boxes. My iron levels are low, so currently taking iron tablets but not really noticed much improvement yet. My husband had a suggestion from a physio who said that if you massage your legs upwards before going to bed it stimulates the circulation which helps to avoid cramp so I bought Cannaflex and use that to massage my legs every night before setting down. It does seem to be working. So good luck. It's pretty awful when the pain wakes you out of a deep sleep. Regards Claire.

I too suffer from leg cramps. Although I take magnesium and potassium supplements I still get leg cramps, especially on cold nights. We turn the heating off from bedtime till we get up in the morning, therefore our bedroom can be a bit cold, especially lately. We're lovely and snug under the duvet, but sometimes I run too hot so subconsciously I stick a leg out of bed to control my temperature. The trouble is I wake up with the said leg really cold with painful cramps. It does help if I wear bed socks though. I've deduced it's a circulation problem caused by cold.
