Daily Mail article on me

@donnellydogs What an inspiration you are to women everywhere your photos are beautiful my heart felt good wishes to you ! Love K So sorry for your loss but he would be so very proud of youXX

What a courageous and amazing story @donnellysdogs My sister in laws mum also had breast cancer and had both removed, she’s Black Country and very matter of fact and didn’t want any further risks, so it was an easy decision for her to make, that was about 10 years ago and she’s been in good health since.

Nothing to do with diabetes except that I am a long term T1 diabetic and this is mentioned.

Do not look if you are scared of scars but it is an article about breast cancer and my fight...

My husband died beginning of March and he saw photos and knew of article being prepared. He would be proud that it has now been published.

Sad to hear of your husbonds death , send you my condolences and a hug

You really are a brave woman and by the way still a very beautiful lady , I admire you for doing those photoes and by them also being of help for other women in the same situations with a breast cancer

Such a good thing to do @donnellysdogs , and such lovely photos: you look attractive, confident, powerful, strong, kind - all the things a survivor should be.

I'm so sorry about what happened to your husband.

Re the article, I was a bit worried after your warning about scars but I have to say the pics are beautiful on many levels. Also very brave and must have been very liberating.

I know the message of the article is to inspire women to demand the health options that they want, but I have to say it's also inspiring to see someone who life has thrown so much at but keeps on going and in such a positive way. It's certainly put a lot of my own issues into perspective.

Thank you everybody.

More different articles going into 2 ladies magazines within next 4 weeks....will let you all know when they will be published. They will have photos of hubby and me too.

What keeps me going is the love and support of people here and a very special severely disabled friend of mine. My life is so easy compared to hers.

The loss of my husband is absolutely devastating. So glad I have Daisy dog as my legacy of canine companion. Today though I had to prepare details to have on wall in prominent place for medics ref my meds and also sorting out care for Daisy if I end up in A&E/hospital/ill/dead etc. Things you dont think about when you have a partner..putting a smile on face when thinking of this likelihood is hard to do..

Thank you everybody for all your support. (I didnt like the headline in article) when published in magazines I can correct events/story but not the headline they choose to use, but...Hey, so many people have virtually or in realife given support that it has been absolutely overwhelming.

Thank you...

@donnellysdogs I'm not sure what to say but I want to say something to support your amazing courage and determination, and to thank you for letting people see your photos which are, as @AdamJames said, beautiful on so many levels. Special recognition for doing this when your husband died so recently, and huge empathy; my husband died three years ago, and suddenly managing everything - and being - alone when you have health issues can be, politely put, hard. Like you, I have my dog, whose conversational skills have improved massively, so three cheers for Daisy too!

@donnelly, my sincerest regards to you for your strength and willingness to show people how lovely we flatties really are! There is such beauty in strength and vulnerability - I applaud you. Thoughts and prayers coming your way as you continue on your journey without your loving hubby at your side....I am so sorry to hear of his passing. May you flood your days with loving memories of him and the time you did have together. Hugs & blessings/L

Thankyou for sharing your story.

There is a character in the soap Emmerdale that has 'both her b00bs removed'. They showed another brave woman like yourself as a mirror image of the scars associated with a mastectomy.

And sorry to hear about your husband, he must have been so proud of you
