Hi All,
T2 for three years. Varying states of control.
On the relatively rare occasions that we treat ourselves to an evening takeaway my go to is a curry.
No rice, no naan, no problem, delicious.
Lunchtimes however, not so easy.
Sandwichs, baguettes, jacket potatoes, something and chips, none of which I want to eat.
What do all you lovely people do?
All thoughts very welcome.
Thank you.
You can order just about anything with a "hold the bread/bun" memo these days. At McDonalds, the ones that do an all day breakfast anyway, I might go for two breakfast mcmuffins without the muffin. (So it's just eggs, bacon, sausage, maybe some greens and cheese). Or any hefty burger would do, also without the bun. Same could go for a kebab or something. This time of year it's kind of hard to find a salad, but once spring kicks in one could have one, maybe not the dressing that might usually go with it (I do miss honey dill!), but if you have olive oil or mayo on hand... That could well do the trick, as long as there's plenty of protein in there, so maybe tuna, salmon, chicken, surf & turf, eggs? If you want to bring stuff from home, how about boiled eggs, or cheese roll-ups (literally just some cheese rolled up with whatever you please in there; butter, garlic/herb butter, cold cuts), maybe cold high meat content sausages if there's a microwave there that can zap them back into being warm.
It's a bit of a search, but there are options. Places like McDonalds do sometimes forget it's kind of hard to eat something if there's no bun around it, so maybe have utensils with you at all times.
Hope this helps some!
Jo
