Welcome, you have come to a great place.
Yes it is scary and overwhelming. You can read everything, but keep in mind you may need to reread multiple times and that’s OK. It will take time to put it all together in a way that makes sense and actually works for YOU. I like to read everything. The knowledge helps, but it also give me a sense of security and the feeling that I am being pro-active. Even if I don’t always implement what I know as well as I’d like, I still like knowing. My sister.....she doesn’t want much information. Just some basics. To her it’s too overwhelming. We are all different.
Ask questions. None are too simple, stupid, whimsical or obvious. We have all been there and are still on this journey. We are all still asking questions.
Get a blood glucose monitor, the supplies to use it, and use it often. Check for cheap strips. See how you respond to Foods by checking before and about 2 hrs after a meal. Without a monitor it’s like trying to drive blind. You don't know where you are, where you’re going, or how you’re going to get there.
Once more, welcome! You can do this.
