Egg intolerance

I see to have developed an intolerance to eggs in the last couple of years? Which is a pity because I love omelettes and eggs generally!
People seem to eat a lot of egg-based meals on the low carb diet?
Any advice?
 
I’m not a huge fan of eggs, I usually only use them for sweet baking.

So I just don’t eat them in savoury dishes! I eat meat, fish, veg, spag bol with courgetti, curries, stews, lots of cheese, cold cuts, salads... all the normal low-carb fare, just not eggs. Very occasionally I will have an omelette stuffed full of garlic mushrooms cooked in butter, but only once every couple of months. Even more occasionally, bacon and eggs. I have the bacon as greedy crispy strips eaten with fingers more often!

It means I don’t care for the keto mug breads that others enjoy, I just find them too eggy, but I am reconciled to a breadless existence now....

Anyway, lots of choice if you can’t eat eggs, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything :cat:
 
Only because eggs are so quick and easy to prepare, I think - I sometimes find quite a few boxes of eggs in the fridge because I've stopped eating them, then I'll make a conscious effort to eat more eggs and run out, buy more, eat more for a while and then repeat a few weeks or months later.
I buy steak from Lidl, and have it with mushrooms and any other bits I find in the fridge. It seems ordinary now, even for breakfast.
 
Have you tried duck eggs?
I know someone who can’t eat hens eggs, but is fine with duck eggs.

i did suggest she try quail eggs when we were doing her online order, but for some reason she quibbled at the price. :D

You're doing fine. For me, eggs are a staple now, but for a while there I couldn't have them either. When I went keto though, I seemed to "get over it"..? I have them daily now, but I used to use eggless mayo for instance, to have in my salad and with my meats/fish/poultry. There's still loads left to eat, but yeah, they're quick'n'easy... But there's so much more... Meats/poultry/fis, salads, above ground veggies, cheeses, full fat greek yoghurt, extra dark chocolate and whatnot... Sometimes not quite as convenient, but hey, it's still good eatin'. ;)
 
I don't eat many eggs as I don't really like them. Most of the ones I do eat I use in baking . But I've never had any issues due to my lack of egg consumption over the six plus years I've been low carbing.

Eggs are great little nutritional power packs and are certainly a great low carb food, but apart from making sure that you replace your carbs with more fats for energy, there's absolutely NO law that says you have to eat anything you're unable to tolerate (or prefer not to eat) that is generally recommended as suitable for low carb diets.

I can’t eat eggs if they have been fed on a high soya diet - standard eggs. However I am fine with free range organic omega 3 eggs (low soya diet). It’s a long shot but perhaps worth a try. I struggle with any dairy or meat where the animal has been fed on soya but fine with pasture for life produce, I.e. no soya in their diet.
