Hi can anyone tell me what it means if you are told you have early signs of change at the back of your eye's.

If you have early signs of diabetic retinopathy (known as background retinopathy) it does not affect your sight so does not need treatment. Maintaining a good HbA1c and low blood pressure reduces the risk of progression to sight-threatening diabetic retinopathy. Regular screeening means that if the changes do become more serious, they can be detected before there is any effect on sight which is the time when treatment is most effective.

Can you loss your sight or can something be done.

if you keep your blood glucose down to normal f.x. by going really low carb , then it will probably not progress... that is the best you can do... so do take that serious about your foods from now on

I have an appointment at the eye clinic as well how do I find out what low carbs I should eat.
