Who are your favourite comedians or funny actors?

Bill Hicks is my favourite, although he can get a bit too much sometimes!

Ross Noble. I know he's a bit mainstream, but you can't beat him for surrealism, and I love the way he just makes things up by bouncing off the audience...I'd love to see him twice in two nights. I bet you could count the things he says twice on one hand.

Billy Connolly is my hero!

Coming from a Scottish background helps but I just get him, his new dvd almost made me wet myself!

Also love the sweaty beast himself Lee Evans

there are so many i like but i love jasper carrot and Ahmed jalili (I know i spelled his name wrong but you will know who i mean)

Love Rita Rudner and am reading Peter Kays "The sound of Laughter" it is hilarious.
Jasper Carrott and Billy Connolly and of course Lily Savage to name but a few.

My favourites are Jimmy Carr, Alan Carr and David Walliams (no I don't have a fetish with people called Carr! )

I saw Jimmy Carr live at Regents Park open air theatre and also in a small theatre in a pub. It was absolutely brilliant. Afterwards he came and spoke to us and he was really nice and friendly.

Bill Bailey, after seeing him almost electrocute himself in Edinburgh a couple of years ago - accidentally pouring water on a live socket and trying to clear up the mess - I had to leave the theatre as I was hystericla with laughter.
My kids said he was not amused - 'its not that funny, although you could sell your ticket stubs on ebay'

Also love Victoria Wood

Flanders & Swann, Tom Lehrer, Victor Borge ... all gifted musicians with delightful humour.

Never heard of Tommy Cooper 'til I came here, but found I love him to bits, and Billy Connolly. Then there's Victoria Wood, Dawn French, Jo Brand, and the list is miles long. I'm familiar with a lot of American entertainers, but there's a lot to catch up with over here, and the good part is that I'll never run out of funny stuff to watch, like 'Last of the Summer Wine', and 'The Darling Buds of May'...what classic sitcoms!!! Oh yeah, I like 'Fawlty Towers'...just pure genius, but then John Cleese was a hit across the Big Pond way back during the hippy generation's day!!

billy is so funny i don,t think you have to be scottish to like him but do you think having the name Argyle has any thing to do with it ?

Bill Bailey <- Saw him in Cardiff. Awesome stuff.
Billy Connelly
Bernie Mac
Dave Chapelle
Rich hall
Chris Rock <- Saw him live in Birmingham. Injurred my cheeks and my stomach laughing.

That bloke off of Britains Got Talent. He was a magician and was absolutely hilarious. Piers Morgan called him "A comedy genius". Never heard from him again. I wonder what happened to him...

I met one of my favourites Bob Carolgees and spit the dog when I escorted him around the camps while I was serving in Northern Ireland back in 1981.
